Hello everyone,
After months of creeping around this forum I am in the QC process with a TD on a VSF Sub. I’m concerned about the readings from this QC image, any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I am specifically concerned about the +/- 7 s/d reading, seems high to me.

Right?! This guy is trying to scam me…!

Seriously though, is this within acceptable spec for a VSF? I have no real basis for comparison.

This is how it comes from the factories, you can always service it later and get it adjusted. Chances are that there's dust, dirt and loose parts in the movement as well as dry components that should be lubricated or the other way around (drenched in oil where it should be dry).

Besides, +/-7 seconds per day is the acceptable tolerance for an elaboré grade ETA 2824.

Thank you, I do plan on having it serviced relatively quickly after I receive it. This should be the VS3235 movement in a VSF 126610 LN, should have mentioned the watch model.

Disappointing. Wander if like you, most VSF owners don’t wear their watches much or if this family member was extra rough with this watch. Because this is the first report of bracelet issues I’ve seen.

By the way, is the bracelet link issue not easily fixable?
How did you make this change? Are the dial sizes compatible?

He's 14yrs old and has been wearing it daily, to school and doing sports and clowning around with mates. It's had a hard time. More like 2 or more years of average user wear. I have used gen Subs frm new for a few years straight and there has been zero wear like that.

It's not the metal work of the links, it's poor workmanship on the welds and crap pins that are not hardened metal that make up a cheap bracelet. It may look close to gen but the components are not close to gen tolerances. So this is what is going to happen to your rep if you daily it for a length of time.

We really need bracelet maker that does it right, nice cut SEL's, proper hardened pins etc, it can be a standalone product used as optional extra for those who want a durable daily watch. I wouldn't mind paying $3-400 for a good bracelet if there was one.

This belongs to a family member. It's a VSF116610LV. It has been worn daily for about 10 months by an active young guy. I just replaced the movement because it broke when he dropped it. However, the rest of the watch has not held up very well..

The bracelet is about to fail in 3 places, it already has a broken weld between the clasp and first link and both SEL's are about to come apart from the attached links.

In summary, a reminder that while the VSF watch case set and movement may be among the best of it's kind, it has a rather cheap bracelet that cannot hold up to daily wear.

I don't really wear my reps, they only get an hour here and there so mine should remain in good condition, I'll wear my gens daily, they hold up much better. That's the difference.

Maybe the ARF bracelet is holding up better? My VSF116610 with the ARF 1LD marked clasp has been holding up well?

The ARF clasp didn't feel any different to me, same quality, however we have no idea if the pins holding it together are any better than VSF. We'd need to see some wear results. These are over a year old now, there must be folks have worn them daily.

Really disappointing to see the bracelets fail like that, I thought we'd come beyond this poor quality.

Like I said above, we could do with a bracelet factory that makes really good ones, then we'd have an option. The option at the moment is a used gen bracelet on ebay - take your chances with that.. I have bought a gen bracelet for a rep in the past (a gen 93250 for a JF16610).

in addition to resistance, the gen bracelet has a consistency, a feeling, a weight and a softness, which rep will never have

Agree. Gen is very well made, but I'm sure it is not impossible to replicate and sell to us for a few hundred dollars. Your TD sells an ARF for around $100, the TD gets margin, so does the factory and any middle man between them, so what does that bracelets really cost to make.. $15, if that.

I'd happily pay $300 for a good one that cost $100 to make.
