Yep this is the way it always has been. They use different suppliers. This is why we used to get V1, V2, V3................ versions. Something had changed not because they were trying to make the rep more accurate but because a different part was used form a different supplier. The improvement in reps is down to the improvement in parts supply not demand from the assembly factories.

I was actually talking about gen companies getting their crystals from different manufacturers. There’s not a lot of companies making watch crystals anymore so whenever they go to buy another bunch of crystals the company is gone or their equipment or process has changed. I believe that’s why not all gen crystals look the same.
The gap in quality has certainly closed. Even the equipment available to hobbyists is capable of producing top notch parts. It’s certainly a great time in the rep world man.

If you still need more proof, I can try to find the dealer picture I took, with regard to my original post about trying a 126610 at an AD with blue tint. I’m doing this for other members as well. His question was something I wondered about when coming into the rep game.

It uses the A2824, not 2836. The 2824 has a more accurate crown height, but the date flip is not as instant as the 2836. Either movement can be swapped for a gen ETA if you choose.

There are people who worry too much about the quality of the reps, that there is a misalignment here, that there is a reflection there, that I take out a digital scale from Reddit to see the alignment of the marker indices. Buy the watch and enjoy it, rolex gens can also have certain flaws and I don't think anyone will enter the AD with a 10x magnifying glass in their pocket to check the watch while you are buying it. but then they review the €500 replica as if it were the last thing they did in this world. Enjoy the watches friends, they are just that, watches.
