OK,
just updated the mod with the new SEALING PROCEDURE and included a bonus clasp engravings paint mod as well as some really swell new pics.
Enjoy.

Thx for this great mod.
Nobody has noticed the huge difference in size and width of the numbers in the bezel between gen and rep? if you look at the pics in the first entrance of this post it is clearly visible. Rep is thinner and stylish, gen much wider and bold. Does anybody knows if there is a rep bezel closer to the gen?

This thread is definitely worth the BUMP ;)

...Anyway, Mendota was talking about the noob GMT with platinum insert, and he believed it was a V2.
The V2 and the V1 have more silver-ish numbers indeed, but on the V3 it has gone to flat white.
I have an old V1 GMT and the numbers (shape) is completely wrong, but they are, after all, very silver.

I´m gathering the needed tools/paints to do this mod to some of my watches...Hope everything come out good when I try it.

Cheers,
Spirit.

Wrong heat....

So, just to inform you all....I did not have a solder gun handy, so I used a heat gun at about 12 inches. Turned the pearl completely yellow....

Is this thread unique to only TWO? There is an award for that. Not many have this.

Whats the best way to get rid of the old paint before priming? Theres a lot of dirt stuck in the old one that i think might be better to start from scrap…

if you must remove the original paint you will have to do a couple of thin white coats to get back to a clean white base before doing the silver mixture.

pick it out with a needle or xacto knife. a little paint thinner or nail polish remover may be required. if you start to pick at the white paint you will most likely create divots that will look bad and destroy a smooth looking engraving.
