Gurkha Beauty

Construction on this baby was immaculate and the burn was razor sharp. Tons of smoke with a light grey ash.

Initial flavors were leather and creamy, dark roasted coffee. There is also a good deal of spice and a nuanced toasty flavor that opens up in the first third. Body is more medium than mild. The latter 2/3's develop with some earthiness and the "toasty" quality acquired a cashew like sweetness as well.

My cat f*cked up the ash shot. She was a "beauty", none the less.

As mentioned in the previous post, there are some great deals on these currently. $39.95 and $49.99 respectively for 10 packs. Keep in mind that normally 10 of these sticks would have a $308 value.

I picked mine up in a a 20 cigar combo pack from CI. 5, Beauties, 5 Mano O War Virtues, 5- 5 Vegas Gold and 5 Macanudo Hyde Park. For $50 this was a great deal. They was all pretty good. I think the weakest was the 5 Vegas Gold but even that was a decent smoke.

Really good deal, just $10 more for 10 more sticks. I would argue that the Macanudo's are the "weakest" overall. To my palate they're super mild and grassy which soon develops into... more "grassy".

My 2 cents.

Had my first Siglo VI yesterday. For an 18 year old on a budget, it nearly broke the bank!

For any of you Hong Kongers out there, I got it for around 21 USD (170/180 HKD) at Tony's in Central which is a great price but I'm not sure his stock is the real deal. Some of them are waxy while others are dry even though they are from the same box. The flavour was rich and full, but I'm not complaining for what I paid, but I better get it from a more reputable source before I make harsh judgements!

Now if someone can point me to where to get an OPUS X !

Rocky Patel - Decade
Loved this one. I know nothing about cigars, but it was not too harsh for me (i like sweeter cigars as a noobie), and I really enjoyed it :)
Looking to step up my cigar game though - hopefully I will be posting in here alot more!
Cheers!

The Pacific Northwest is back to "normal". It's a wet and grey day... :arghh:

So, I decided to organize the garage and, as I'm doing so, smoke the last of the long aforementioned Connecticut sampler.

Rocky Patel Signature...

Excellent construction, a proper burn with tons of smoke and a light grey ash. Rich, medium bodied (I love that) and complex as well as being incredibly smooth, buttery and creamy. Toasted cedar in the opening which develops into notes of cashews and almonds. Finish is not too strong, maintaining that toasty aftertaste throughout.

Note to self... Can't maintain ash properly when one has to take draws in between the work effort. You all know how I like a good "ash" shot... ;)

Had another lovely stick yesterday - Cain "F"

HUGE stogie, took a full 2hrs to slowly smoke it. Was cold as hell last night (40*F and windy as crap) but I soldiered through it and really enjoyed it. Spicy, really full bodied, and delicious from start to finish. The first 2 or 3 puffs really put me on my ass though.

I am coming to a realization though, that its going to be hard to smoke a full cigar when its 20*F outside and snowing sideways. I think I am going to try out a Cain F Nub, and if I still am as big of a fan I am going to order a 24 box for my Humi.

Too bad I cant smoke inside (video games + a cigar would be amazing after work), but my girlfriend would murder me.

You guys make me want to try these Decades.

Which would you recommend, Robusto, Torpedo, Lonsdale or Toro?

Thanks.

TORPEDO! Rated at 95 by CA :)
Absolutely a great cigar and I had a toro the other day and like this better.

Had an Alec Bradley "American Classic Blend" today. Great ~$6 stick at the local shop. Typical medium bodied "tobacco" flavor is the best way to describe it. Not really spicy or complex but very very smooth and delicious the whole way through.
If you like a typical tobacco flavor, as I do, this one is great and really smooth all the way through. And a really great value I feel!

I should really try to take pics of the actual cigar before I burn em but sometimes I start them in the shop :lolcina: :p

EDIT:
I did take this pic earlier last week...
RP Vintage 1992. Absolutely fantastic smoke as well.

Vintage '92 and 90 are two of my favorites...have been ever since I started puffing :D It's starting to get pretty cold/rainy/nasty outside...I'm going to have to start hitting the local cigar lounge soon.

Waffles, have you tried the "regular" Cain? I've found those to be smoother than the F. Still pretty full-bodied but you don't really feel it until down at the nub (or if you puff madly away at it without giving it a chance to cool). Same great flavor though. I have to say I haven't tried the Cain Nub yet which is odd since they're two of my favorite brands...really anything Oliva touches is gold in my world :D

Litto Gomez Diez Chisel followed by a Cain F 550 in the shop. Both great construction, even burn and full bodied goodness.

Hard to beat LFD and Oliva for quality smokes.

Spicy, with some sweetness on the finish Wiz. It's got maduro leaf for both the wrapper and binder and it makes it a pretty complex smoke.

Spent some time at the local cigar lounge last night with some friends and an Alec Bradley Family Blend:

Always a great smoke, but they seem to keep going out on me. Maybe it's their humidor being too humid, I dunno. One of these days I'll buy me a box and age them myself.

Nick I tried bringing in one of the smokes you sent me but they wanted to charge me an $18 cutting fee! I said F that and bought 2 of the Family Blends and had money left for drinks....next time I'll just try to sneak it in ;)
