I absolutely agree, and it's the #1 "tell" that I look for in the modern Rolex date models. I'm surprised that they would have a difficult time producing a quality crystal with an AR coating. Even now, their standard crystal with a "black hole" AR coating would be miles ahead of where they stand now. The fact they say they can't see the black hole makes me think they feel it's not worth the effort and are just making a rather poor excuse.

Perhaps ARF should look into communicating or collaborating with rnrprof like ZF did with that ABD guy(that shall not be named).

I certainly appreciate Angus and his communication though!

as I have already written, it will be enough that one factory will put a crystal with a decent BH and the others immediately after will do the same.

Nearer than you think

I'm pretty sure that, when they met, ARF told Puretime that they have no intention in upgrading the crystal. Greed? Laziness? You name it, i don't know.

I just know that as you said that shitty reply was just a badly thought excuse trying to save some face for that failed hype that was artificially boosted.

Otherwise why would Angus disappear after the ZF turned out to be a major let down?

I hope we can get a good replica with a good black hole and good halo effect, there is NO reason not to focus on that.

And before someone comes with the retarded "yOu cAn'T eXpEcT gEn-LiKe qUaLiTy fOr 500$" they must know that they totally missed the point.

As soon as ARF or any other factory makes a good crystal, all the others will follow as well.

The only thing that will push Subs to increase is competition. My friend and I were discussing it yesterday, and we're both surprised that it's taken so long to have so many factories competing in the Rolex sector. It's surprising as Rolex watches and their reps sell more and faster than any other watch brand here. You only have to look at the M2M section or even the quantity of posts within the Rolex section compared to other sub-forums to understand this.

At the moment, I think our last hope is RXF (VSF) who have essentially destroyed the competition in Omega and are now moving to Rolex. Their crystals have been widely regarded as the best we've seen so far. So much so that they only sold their crystals separately ($60) for 2 days before they realised everyone was buying their crystals opposed to their watches.

Their crystal is considered near gen.

So anyway, essentially these factories don't replace things unless they have to. If RXF start taking large chunks of their market share and at a cheaper rate. You can bet those other factories will sit up and take notice. They just don't have the motivation to at the moment, they're making huge profits on these as is. Why change that? Only competition will force their hand.

Can’t agree more with what you said, we all hope for RXF / VSF to be the new noob / ARF, so that the other factories will move their asses and do something

No, I assumed you would have an intelligent reply to back up yours. I'm not surprised you're ashamed of your own generation though, seeing as you're a part of it.

FYI, Millenials last birth year is '96, Mr. Keyboard Warrior. We have plenty of Baby Boomers and Gen X'ers here that stir things up too, it's not just the Millenials. Most of the noobs coming here from reddit are Gen Z, which you may know about from your watching of TikTok. "Lol"

Go kindly ask the mods data about your demographic claims then I will entertain you. For now my response will be ... LOOOOL :)

100% agreed. Can confirm that after folks started ordering RXF crystals to in lieu of gen ones, they pulled the ol' Noob BLRO insert trick and blocked individual sales of their prized part.

When individual sales are blocked that usually means it's very unique or special in the industry. Look at all the lads who had no choice but to fork over $600 for a timebomb BLRO just for the insert.

VSF is absolutely showing that you can hybridize price and quality. It's a delicate balance because the actual price of the watches is sub $200. I daresay volume beats quantity. Great example is Chinese watches vs Swiss watches. Not bashing either, just economic facts.

I'm excited to see other factories getting off their lethargic, bloated carcasses and realizing they are alienating massive customer bases that may very well leave them behind.

Well yeah? couldn't agree more? that's basically what i've been saying for all this time.

But according to a TD we didn't need to hope anymore for a "good" crystal after these releases. That's the point.

The prices go up not as much as the quality, I'd be totally fine if they charged us for what they are charging but they actually lived to the hype. Sure, it will never be like the gen crystal, but no one with half a brain cell would expect that for this money.

Have you seen the RXF crystal?

Tell you what....
You are not wrong about the VSF crystal on the Omegas.. The VSF 2018 Omega smp crystal is the nicest crystal I have seen in any rep, bar none. I haven' bought every rep out there, but I have had a bunch and it is really the only one that looks similar to the prof crystal. If you have never seen either one of these you really have to. They completely change the look of the watch...

I’m sorry - here you are;

The rehaut engraving is an anti counterfeiting feature. It is therefore reasonable to expect it to be not as perfect on a Chinese fake as it is on a genuine Rolex.

?? I don't care about the rehaut. I pointed out the potential of you being filthy rich since $500 seems to mean nothing to you.

No I’m not rich. Filthy or otherwise. Although $500 is a drop in the ocean compared with how much the kids cost. The rehaut comment was my original comment replying to the other guy which you quoted.
