The sw dial for the 15202 is pretty decent. The DP one has too much gloss vs gen.How does the SW dial compare to the now discontinued DP dial for the 15202?

Did you mean the quickset date function via the crown? If so it can be modded to achieve this function.Man, wish they make a good 16202 rep with the instant date adjustment function. I've had one but without the instant date adjustment and over time it's just getting to be a pain in the ass adjusting the date lol. Anyone know if that's even coming?
The old JF 15202 Miyota 9015 movement was not modified to mimic the gen 15202 cumbersome date adjustment method. I saw this on some of the TD's videos. Unfortunately, JF is no more. As Legend stated, a mod can be done on your existing 15202. No word yet of an upcoming 16202, if they do I wish they solve the pizza hand base issue as well.Man, wish they make a good 16202 rep with the instant date adjustment function. The 16202 rep does exist but it has the cumbersome date change function of the gen 15202. A little ironical if you think about it actually. The old JF 15202 Miyota 9015 movement was not modified to mimic the gen 15202 cumbersome date adjustment method. Yeah exactly! Oh that is good to know. But aside from that there are some more issues with the rep 16202 as well including hand base, dial color that's quite off, and case dimensions as well. It's a shame because I quite like the 16202, hoping that a better rep would come out at least for a modding base.Did you mean the quickset date function via the crown? Oh, my 16202 rep did have the cumbersome date adjustment method, but it did not have date adjustment method via crown per the gen 16202 lol.The old JF 15202 Miyota 9015 movement was not modified to mimic the gen 15202 cumbersome date adjustment method. The construction method of the gen dial is near impossible to get absolutely right. However, it is good enough out of the box with the wearer being the biggest tell. As long as you can pull it off, people won't question it unless you go to an AP boutique or something.
With that said, you can still get the dial to be reworked by legend to get the color closer to gen.
Is there any one AP blue dial produced by a factory that is better than most offered by TD’s. If so does anyone have any suggestions on model, factory and TD seller? The construction method of the gen dial is near impossible to get absolutely right. Yes the gap can be closed by remachining the plots. I’ve done this before but it’s not a commonly requested mod.I have 2 APSF latest version, blue and white dial. I noticed that they have quite the variance regarding the gap between the case and the first link of the bracelet. Held at the same angle, my white APSF has significantly larger gap than the blue one. I think the blue one is how it's supposed to look like, while the white one looks a bit loose. Is there a way to fix this? Pics attached.
Thanks! Was not expecting such a large variance within the same manufacturer especially for watches purchased within one week of one another. I'll probably request it later down the line along with few other stuffs if I don't sell it or just change the bracelet.Yes the gap can be closed by remachining the plots. When this fitment issue occurs there are usually 2 possibilities, assuming that plots length are machined perfectly:Thanks! @Yondu, I spent a long time agonizing over what model would be my first AP. This was the single most helpful, and most "scientific" thing I found after looking at every relevant wrist shot and post I could find on RWI, and trawling the depths of the internet for pictures and videos. Thank you!
This video also helped me with my decision.
It will be 15500
Interestingly, after digging up photos of my previous APSF 15500 white dial, that watch ALSO has the same issue. I'm starting to think that they're just built like this. At least the white dial ones. When this fitment issue occurs there are usually 2 possibilities, assuming that plots length are machined perfectly:
1. The lug holes on the watch case are drilled a little low (toward the lug end)
2. The holes in the plots are drilled a little high (toward the plot ends)
Looking at your watch, I would guess it’s scenario 2, whereby changing the bracelet may help resolve the issue. To confirm you can just swap the bracelets around on both watches and see if the issue is solved.
The issue shouldn’t be isolated to a dial color because, as you know, they all use the same case type. If you have 2 silver 15500s with the same issue it can be coincidental or anecdotal. If you have say, 10 consistently exhibiting the same issue then yes, the issue can be said to be prevalent among the specific dial color, or a batch issue.Interestingly, after digging up photos of my previous APSF 15500 white dial, that watch ALSO has the same issue. Good point, although having 2 of them with the same issues in a row put me a pause in just replacing the bracelet because the replacement bracelet might also have the same issue lol. Guess I'll try to live with it for now!The issue shouldn’t be isolated to a dial color because, as you know, they all use the same case type.
