I can service and regulate it for you if you want.
Got it, secrets of the trade.

Had you been a local watch smith, I would gladly do so or did that already. Given the nature of the goods and all the things that could happen during shipping at a huge distance, I'm bound to do that locally, unfortunately.

Strange. My fellow members in the same country called me a “local watchsmith”. They must be mistaken 🤣

Well? So what’s the answer to the question? :)
I was merely joking.
The answer to your questions actually are:

1. Gen plates have better engraving. That is a personal preference. So there is nothing "wrong" with the rep plates per se. Don't take everything I say as things you have to rectify because something is wrong. Often it is a matter of preference.

2. If you know your gen dials, you will understand no rep dial can come close in the construction given the method the tapisseries are made. Looks wise, some are more acceptable but if you know what to look for, nothing can replace the gen dial.

@eBoy and @Cheesegrater this is a thread for AP questions, please do not clutter it up with personal grievances. What is past is past, this is for AP questions to be asked and answered.
Thread cleaned up. Thanks fellas.

I just purchased an APSF 15510 from a fellow member, and only afterwards did I read that the reps use the same case and bracelet as the 15500. How noticeable will this be in real life when wearing the watch? I feel kind of dumb for not researching it more beforehand.

Most probably not noticeable at all. Not very many people are familiar with the AP 15510 and AP 15500 models or watches in general. It will only disturb you if you let it.

Not noticeable at all on the wrist in real life, even for those who know it.

can you use a strap from 15400 on a 15500?

And what’s the size of the strap?
You mean the bracelet?

It's integrated. There's no standard lug size like 18, 20 or 22mm etc. with integrated bracelets. The way these are connected to a head is unique to brand and model.

If they are interchangeable between 15400 and 15500, I do not know. May well be, but I'm sure @legend has a definite answer.

To my quick reaearch, the gen bracelets on the 15400 and 15500 are indeed identical and thus interchangeable. I'm assuming the same is true for the reps? Can you confirm, @legend?

When/if the factories come out with a correct version of the 15510 bracelet, do you think they will fit the current 15510/15500 cases? Or no, because of the bracelet integration?

No, the 15500 bracelets are slightly thicker. Ironically I think the 15510 bracelet uses the same one as the 15400.

You’re asking essentially if the plots will fit the current cases if they release a thinner and more tapered bracelet. I would think it’s almost sure that they would.

Ah, okay. Well, once again it shows that most gen forum users don't know what they are talking about, because I found that false info on Watchuseek. 😂

It is a fact that gen owners will not have as much information as we do because unlike gen owners who just purchase the watch and take all the details for granted, rep owners spend a lot more time to study their watches to ascertain the accuracy of the watch to gen.
To clarify, the 15400 bracelet and 15500 bracelet are interchangeable. But the dimensions are different in terms of thickness and very slightly in taper.

I see, interesting detail. So the info was not false as far as compatibility is concerned. The bit of information I found stated that they were "identical" though, which is not correct. Got it. 😉

This is what makes me a little less worried about wearing reps. I feel like the only time the average person will assume you're wearing a "fake watch" is when it's a Rolex, even if it's gen. Which is why I still haven't pulled the trigger on one.
