The 1016: The Under Appreciated Thread

On another note Raffles just released a tropical gilt 1016 dial. not sure about the colour would need work along with knocking the sheen off the lume but the text is crisp and looks very similar to a mk5 gilt dial .

It seems that the mk5 gilts are always the ones that turn tropical something about the paint they used in that era of the 60's while the matt print dials didnt .

Raffles released some really decent dials this year. Their 80's 1016 the albino 1016 and now this one. and at a fraction of the price of Ruby and others.

Any chance u will be getting this? I will probably be getting 1 to replace the current 1 on my raffles build (“mk 2” dial with yellow lime)

Looks like you received the thicker crown from raffles.

Interestingly 2 cases that I bought from raffles came with 2 crowns of different thickness :/

oh.. That is the crown that comes with the caseset, I guess if you buy one from him he probably provides the narrower one?

u can’t specify the crown thickness. Raffles will send out randomly. At least that’s what I experienced after ordering 2 cases from him.

I believe the 2846 is the same diameter as the 2824 so yeah it should fit.

I bought 2 of the same case from him but received 1 thicker crown and 1 thinner crown. I’ll post some pics in a few days time.

Maybe you could buy one of the right thickness as spare part.It might be 6mm...following the indications in the crown section for a 36 mm Explorer

Both crowns I have are 6mm, the thickness from the side is different.

definitely a difference. I prefer the narrow crowns for sure. I checked his site and he only has one 6mm crown offered. so I guess you have to ask or its just luck of the parts bin draw??
