Oh that would also be a very nice next project for me :D is it the raffles 34mm explorer case set? did you change the crystal to a fitting plexi? so much questions
Yes I used the raffles 34mm case set and the yuki dial fit nicely
Yes I removed the sapphire and used an AF294 domed crystal (yuki used to sell them ) and enlarged the ID of the bezel to fit the acrylic. If you can not find a domed crystal the clarks T12 fits well also and the bezel just needs a slight "tune up " to fit it.

Here are a few pics of my 5500 build from a few years back. I still got that dial in my parts bin somewhere ..

The aging on the case is just perfect!

I hope the dial is not too sensitiv for that. Mine had shadow marks afterwords.
Show pice !!!
You can get water marks yep. Best way to sort that is after you've done your final application and rinsed and dried. Use a household furniture polish (in UK we have Pledge). Spray it on a tissue, wipe the dial quickly, wait a few seconds and wipe off evenly.

No watermarks.

ok ok. I need an explanation now 😅
I am confused. Is there a secret technique at play here?

I use water-colour pencils to mix up different hues that all form the basis of the lume.
I do a few layers - like the EEk pic above, let tack dry then rinse under running water scrubbing with soft bristle brush.
Dry the dial then repeat with the next layer.
Start with darker hues first and then progressively lighter.
Finally, Goold long rinse, then the Furniture polish as above to eliminate water marks.

Same sort of approach with hands.

awesome technique. 🤩

wipe quickly then wipe evenly. I am assuming this is over the whole dial at once. Not carefully around each marker
Yep.
So after you've done your 6 or so layers of watercolour paints, with running water rinsing in between - and soft brush brushing away excess paint, allowing to dry, etc
When you've done your final coat, rinse and brush as with the other coats.
Then, dry the dial thouroughly.
Then spray furniture polish (just a tiny ammount) on a cloth, wipe it across the dial lightly a couple of times to evenly coat.
Wait 30 seconds or so then with a slightly damp cloth wipe the polish away with a couple of even light strokes.
Then dry the dial slowly.

Where did you learn this technique with the furniture polish. or was this a trial and error type thing. interesting , nice work thanks for sharing.

Is this the acrylic case with bezel/crystal i sent you? Very nice, find it more dôme than usual t21 🤩

This is an acrylic case set however I just sanded the edges of the crystal to give it more of a domed crystal look.
The is the case set I want to swap your bezel and crystal onto next.

This was the first project I used your combination of parts. - for another member.
