@Fpicabia Nicely done. Glad you were able to get the bezel to fit snuggly and no crystal issues. it looks good I dig it on that bracelet.

In stead of buying a printer, you could goto a print service company and have them print out a few sheets of dials
Thanks, I love a good beads of rice bracelet. The tips and R&D here was really helpful. Yeah, the bezel I.D. mod was simple and it fit first try. I did sand down the height of the crystal a bit as well. 320 to 1000 grit on a marble slab.

Hot tip on the print service company. I guess I'd just need to get the right decal paper and know what questions to ask re printing decals. Hmmmm. Thanks

I've made a rod for my own back with this - that's for sure.
I keep thinking of my old father-in-law's Omega Seamaster - he was a farmer and it was always on his wrist. It was so knackerd-looking, dings, dents, gouges, scratches. He loved it. I suggested many times it would benefit from a good clean and polish but he was having none of it.
Trying to get there with this.

"As most of you know, I'm a 1016 geek."

I see no evidence of that. Ha!
Great collection!

At the end of a 40+ year Rolex chase, I've basically ended up with a small 5500 Air King and 160x DJ collection.

Spent the day removing "meatal" from the Raffles to try and emulate the outline of a well used 1016. So much more to do.

Also aged up the bracelet with dings and dents and generally just beating it up to create "Time Polish".

And in to the bag of lube to stop it squeaking when articulating and make it smooth as silk.

I am trying to find a vintage seamaster rep. 😭 Those before they took design cues from Subs

Sadly, I don't think you'll find them. It's all cermaic these days. The Reps are only interested in "What is now?"
It's sad isn't it. For me - Omega's golden days were between about 1950 and 1990 with some of the most iconic timepieces.
Lost to time now . . . Unless you can go Southebys and stupid prices.

Here's a good one. It's mislabeled as a ref. 2967 which is a ladies model but it's a ref. 2937 which is a very desirable model as it's the larger case size at 36mm with the cal 267, the ultimate version of the 30T2 movement. Looks to be in good shape and all original as well. Good purchase right here. These are usually $1000+

nice but I don't like small seconds on those. Actually, I found nice reps of vintage constellations but not seamaster

why not buy gen?
about $300-600 for decent ones, last i checked
though no documentation of course, and you do have to keep an eye out for refinished dials and such

Thought I'd post my first ever build here: a 1016 with jmb case and Whoopy dial. This is also my first post on RWI - I'm a little more active on Reddit's replica subreddits, but there's no resource like this anywhere else.

I received the dial, hands, caseset, and an A2824 (which I promptly screwed up the keyless on) from joonwantswatches (who was awesome to buy from), and then grabbed a 6mm crown, movement ring, and bracelet from Raffles. I found a ETA 2824 for $100 from Ebay, and it arrived missing the hour wheel so I transplanted that from the A2824.

The dial and hands came aged already, but I baked the dial at about 250/275 for 40 mins (10 mins at a time) to try to darken the lume a bit, but honestly couldn't see the difference. I then gave the dial a light spray of matte varnish, which gave it the texture I wanted. Otherwise, very little has been done to the watch besides putting it together - the movement ring I got from raffles (28.2mm in outside diameter) was just a tiny bit too small, so I filled in the gap between the ring and the case with Rodico as a carry-over solution; so far it's held up fine.

jmb if you have a spare movement ring for your explorer cases that would fit a 2824, I'd love to buy it.

Where can I buy Jmb case?
After looking for more information, it seems that jmb is the most expensive and best option

I think JMB has officially retired from watchmaking so your best options are raffles , vietnam or gen.

Nice watch.. Im wearing it right now.
