Thanks for the info. It'll be a pretty expensive purchase if shaving a .5mm off is noticeably off. Pretty sure I'll be okay, but it still makes me nervous since we are playing with a millimeters.

When in doubt, especially for prototypes, I find it most important and helpful to compare dial layouts and fonts from the same period. For example the dial above looks to have the "ROLEX" font from the chapter ring days. That would rule out authenticity to me if it was presented as a 1971 -- hypothetically speaking.another example.

I think I may prefer it in a 36mm case as it kinda has that dj/ sub cross over look a bit
Fonts and lume plots are saying it's more 1960-ish than 1965 or later, so I'm just putting that out there since you mentioned 3 different examples. Check the fonts and years if any of them look suspicious.
Another member reached out to the seller and it is a typo the 1016 dial is 28mm so it will fit a 36mm raffles case
Probably. It should be much easier than luming a dial from scratch since there's already a white base. Especially if it's solvent based and I use a water based binder that I can clean off if a mistake is made.
I'm eager to see how it turns out.

I've been a slave to a terrible job for a few months, so I've been away from RWI. It's nice to be back with the 1016 thread! I need to finish the design for the precise MK2 dial that I had started working on before.
Just a follow up on the 1675 dial dimensions. It's sold as 27.3... with a digital caliper, I just measured 27.29, 27.3, and 27.38. I took loose-ish measurements to make sure I didn't accidentally chip some paint, but now I'd say it's definitely 27.3 -- as sold.
Got worried it was going to be 28mm, but it's perfect. Dead nuts accurate!
