That's not decades, that's a long, tipsy night out.Ageing of the Acrylic to suggest decades . . .
Polish those out with polywatch, get more scratches, then it looks more aged, as someone took care of it from time to time.
I’m sorry about the black duck photo bombing - I’ve had him for many many years and about 20 years ago his end of beak snapped off and he’a started hanging around on my workbench. I think he’s hoping I’m going to repair it. Gives me something to do tomorrow.
He is lovely. Somebody brought him back from Canada for me. I believe his beak kind of curls down at the end, so I don’t know what he is, but if anyone can give me a reference for the repair that would be brilliant.
He is a common loon, appropriately enough as a gift from Canada, as it appears on the $1 coin.

I unfortunately do not have the missing beak-end - but I do remember the shape of the beak so I have prepared some epoxy putty and applied that to dry and will start the process of sanding down tomorrow. I'll paint in with satin black and then polish to match in with the lovely soft texture of the soap stone.

He's drying under the lights - not happy - but it's only because he knows tomorrow's going to be a day of Dremels, sanding, shaping - all centred around his beak - or the lack of it.

No, this dial is actually a Ruby dial from about 5 or so years back.Nice. while the fonts aren’t exactly 1:1 on the raffles, the color work on this reminds me of:

the lume is a very light buttermilk tone and I matched the hands to the lume.

lugs look great too
im still hoping that raffles will make the longer hands for NH movements and a better mk1 (with fat font!) or mk3 dial
