Ageing of the Acrylic to suggest decades . . .

That's not decades, that's a long, tipsy night out.

Polish those out with polywatch, get more scratches, then it looks more aged, as someone took care of it from time to time.

I’m sorry about the black duck photo bombing - I’ve had him for many many years and about 20 years ago his end of beak snapped off and he’a started hanging around on my workbench. I think he’s hoping I’m going to repair it. Gives me something to do tomorrow.

He is lovely. Somebody brought him back from Canada for me. I believe his beak kind of curls down at the end, so I don’t know what he is, but if anyone can give me a reference for the repair that would be brilliant.

The best rep beaks come from Vietnam, you know.

And I can't think of a better mascot for the 1016 club than a loon.

Repair it. !!?? It was my buddy Joey snow shoes that carved it!! We all know eachother up here in Canada :ROFLMAO: (y)

Do you have the missing piece. it loooks to be an inuit soap stone carving.
Yes, that's exactly what it is - thank you 369 for jogging my memory! Inuit soap-stone.
I unfortunately do not have the missing beak-end - but I do remember the shape of the beak so I have prepared some epoxy putty and applied that to dry and will start the process of sanding down tomorrow. I'll paint in with satin black and then polish to match in with the lovely soft texture of the soap stone.

Thanks guys and yes, a loon is a very fitting mascot of the 1016 Thread!

With all that hard work, I’m dreading the size of the bill…

I’ll get my coat.
