@1016_idiot_savant I just saw :) and you pls keep us postet with the helena rou hands. they are on my whishlist too
Will do - I have high expectations regarding the length and size… I’ll make a point of comparing them side by side with the Raffles hands, which are more like the shorter, service hands… not incorrect, but the longer hands are just so much nicer!

The crown embarrassing me now 😅, the bezel is coming from a cartel date just rep and I used it to draw some custom one, it's pending in delivery, i ve found a worker that did them and wait for the packet to arrive.... Will post here the result with the t22

For the crown, I ve Saw a Datejust with a raffle case and an aliexpress crown that seem cool.

Will give a try. Is it 24-600, or 24-603?

Any difference?

I just ordered the "Aftermarket 24-600 Crown and tube" from athajavintage - they state it is for the 1016. I assume you will also need the crown tube(24-6000)?

Here my drilled lug, 1.25mm seem to be the minimum to have a spring bar fitting
Thanks for this update! From my notes I understand that the pin bars are 1.2mm, and that the recommendation is to use a #55 bit (1.3mm). I have also seen that a diamond (needle) file can be used to increase the diameter.

Yes I tried at 1.2 and it was not enough, I increase to 1.3 and it is OK, I Don t Have a drill bit of 1.25mm at the moment, but the spring bar fit well on 1.3mm.

For the crown, I ve saw the aliexpress auction seem to sell the crown and the tube as a kit....

I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed listening to you two compare notes and work to further tweak your builds.

Thanks for doing this in the public forum- it really helps everyone today and in the future that want to tackle these builds.

We are all standing on the shoulders of giants, thanks to all the previous build posts on this forum! I have had vintage Rolex gens with which I have never felt were truly mine, but I know every inch of my builds and can honestly say I would rather have my rep builds which I can maintain and be comfortable wearing.

I was in London for a few days and had the chance to see and handle not one, not two, but three 1016s. This is the first time I have even seen a 1016 in real life, and confirms this will be my exit watch.

In the meantime however… 🤗

Those are beautiful man! Jubilee looks very good on a 1016 imo. Does a gen jubilee from a 16234 fit my raffles case you think?
