So, my second attempt, rework case base on long searches, not sure to have a perfect one, but fill it more in line with the gen than my first one, pretty happy to find a crystal that match with my first one, I had an issue with the crystal fitment as this case arrived with a crystal glued, and understand why now, the crystal step on the case is to little to have a correct fit, measure 293, crystal is 295... So I had to find a way to manage this issue... If you bought a raffle case, it s possible that replacement crystal will not fit.... I thought that tropical dial really beautiful, I ve relume some hands to match the dial, find the result pretty, Wath do you think?

Thanks for sharing - the new crystal does look nicer with the "soft" rounding than the "harder" bevelled, sharp edge original. Here is my Raffles sapphire case modded with a 295 inner diameter T-21 acrylic (right) vs the new acrylic version from Raffles (left):

Interesting to hear the new case has 293 rather than 295... looks to me there are other slight differences (lugs seem slightly slimmer; lug holes slightly larger), or am I just imagining things?

This image shows how the T-21 fits perfectly on the rehaut for the sapphire case version, and that the bezel needs 0.1mm removing:

I may try polishing the sharp edge of the existing acrylic (any tips would be helpful!) before sourcing a smooth-edge domed acrylic, 293 or 295. That dial is rather nice - any plans on ageing it?

Thanks,
For the aging, think to do a darker area around the center, but Don t want ruin this dial think to order another one to do it and save this one as is, not sure about the technic will do some test.

I have lot of crystal on the way for finding the better one, but order on gen spec, so 295 internal diameter, I will see but this need a trick on the rehaut to fit without glueing them

The crystal I ve found in a shop in my place is pretty cool, but nothing to say appart #21 on the bag and expensive compare to sternkreuz or Clark ones...

I ve bought a t22 at the same place, but 31mm external diameter is completely oversized, can't use it to replace the raffle one...

I have another case on the way, third attempt.... I will buy some dial from raffle

For your plan to send your crystal, the only safe way I see is to find a lathe or do something with sanding the crystal and rotate it around his axis during the process, tricky.. 😅

@1016_idiot_savant as far as sanding edges. @1016 lover is correct to get a consistent edge spinning the watch on a lathe would be ideal but risky. I would develop a jig of sorts that holds the watch and then mounts to a variable speed hand drill or drill press so that you can control the speed. Using a small fine diamond file or sanding stick to round the edge and then a number of wet sandpapers from 400 up to 2000 to removed marks and then poly watch to polish. I would remove the bezel so that you dont accidently scratch it , and since the crystal is glued in , it shouldn't go anywhere. if it does, you were pushing too hard lol

If you are just looking to pass the time, you could do it by hand. I think it Yodog had modified a few 25-116 crystals for gmt master to into a t38 style by sanding down the edge. not sure if he did it manually or mechanically assisted.

Thanks, I will try to set a jig on my dremel - I think one of my crystal dies could do the trick!

Will the Raffle case accept gen end links? He says he doesn't know and claims his 580 links do not fit his 36mm cases. Says the only one he has that fit are 455b.

Also, what are y'all using for end links on Raffle cases?

My 20mm Jubilee from Raffles uses endlinks stamped 455B, exactly the same is stamped on my 20mm Raffles rivetted Oyster ;-) FWIW, both Raffles endlinks fit perfectly on my gen 1603 DateJust.

Impressive Explorer I line-up! Is the 6350 dial a decal dial - any info on this build?

No that is a Vietnam dial from MQ $$$ When I originally got it , it looked like my avatar ( my actual watch) but then the lume started to fall off and had to improvise...which in reality it looked too perfect when I got it but now it looks like 70 year old watch
