You've got a nice watch, a decent knife, and the makings of a really sad salad there.
Nice garlic, nice knife, nice, err, spinach leaves? but, very, very nice watch.

New Member Ukrop - who is now starving quietly to death
Yes it is...I am waiting for a tool for cutting dial feet seats to turn up as the clowns at Marathon made the feet on my second dial a mil too short.Waiting is the worst thing. Waiting on a big box from Cousins - and as soon as it arrives I'll be busy - until then life is just dull.
Oi stop doxing me!maybe IRL he is an Insta model and his rolemodel is Kate Moss?
Kind of an oddball question, but I figure the assembled knowledge here would have an answer, since Google has failed me.
Most ladies' watch builds are based on an ETA 2671, which is somewhat pricey, relative to the movements we generally use (NH35, 2824, etc). The cheapest I can find one is about $80, and I'm hoping to do better. I'm finding Seiko NH05 movements for around $25, and having much appreciation for the NH series, I'm hoping these are adaptable to a gen Rolex 26mm case.
I got a great deal on a couple gen dials for 26mm Ladies' OP (no date), and another deal on a couple gen bracelets with 13mm end pieces. I just need a case, hands, and movement to complete the build for the lady friend, since the Flamingo watch isn't something you can wear every day...ahem...
I have 2 gen Rolex cases, 26mm, and 2 rep cases for NH05 movements that are very similar. I'm hoping I can use the gen cases with the NH05, but don't know if it's a non-starter. Worst case scenario is I use the rep cases, but I hope I don't have to.
What I was able to find was that the gen Rolex movement is 20mm in diameter, 5.4mm high, but can't find the hand height.
The 2671 is much smaller, 17.75mm in diameter and 4.8mm high.
The NH05 is 17.5mm and 5.9mm high, although this includes the dial spacer, which presumably could be removed. I could also remove the rotor, if need be, and use the watch as a manual wind, although I'd obviously prefer not to.
As long as the stem heights aren't too extreme, it would seem like the NH would work, or could be made to work with a custom spacer.
Any of you savants have any experience building smaller vintage watches?
As a last ditch option, I will consider it, but the sweeping second hand is how most "normals" think of Rolex, lol.have you thought of quartz?
My wife's Baume et Mercier had a tiny ETA quartz.
The cheapest I can find one is about 80
Yeah, worst case scenario is I build her up a watch with the cheap AliX case and the NH movement. Maybe I'll make her up a little "Explorer," since she's been eyeing mine. A tiny little 3,6,9 dial in a 26mm case would look kind of cool, surprised Rolex never did it.that's about what I put in a seagull movement from Ali including EU VAT
all in all with the low price of the NH05, just buy it and try
Careful. They get a taste for these things and they become like handbags - "You can never have too many".Yeah, worst case scenario is I build her up a watch with the cheap AliX case and the NH movement. Apparently, she fancies herself something of a Jennifer Connely from a few posts up, lol.
