nice results on the dial patina ....is that weathering paint ?
Yes, Tamiya weathering paint. applied wet to dial. Very simple technique.

In other news, I have also purchased a Pagani Design watch as a base to franken. Good news is I was able to find a 6mm crown to fit the tube, the crystal looks amazing, and the band included is of high quality. I also like the size and look of the case.

The bad news is the watch utilizes a 31mm dial, which means if I attempt to use a 28.5mm Raffles dial, the dial won't sit on the bottom of the rehaut, which just won't work. The extra 2.5mm of the dial is literally just empty space around the dial to fit this case I'm pretty sure. Dial printing is as you would expect, pretty much sized for a 28.5mm dial.

Any options for dials in 31mm? If not, I'm going to design and have custom dials made and bulk order Paganis until I run out of dials.

nice!

I am not convinced of the value add of Pagani vs a Raffles build.

You might shave off 30€/$ of the cost? that's the angle?

or maybe for a 14270?

That said, I am also going to try a Pagani donor watch on a MoonSwatch build to see their quality for myself.

I like the case. Cost savings is secondary. Just "feels" right. The case is of also much higher quality than Raffles.

I am looking forward to getting my Pagani then.

Through you I learned that a lot of people are looking for 100-200 priced reps that look good. It's super counterintuitive for me.

Yes, cheaper reps are very popular. Cheapies from DHGate? Those sell quick! My moonswatches sell like hot cakes. We will see if my affordable Explorers sell. Not sure I've seen something custom build priced so low before.

Nice! Do you mind sharing source of the crown?

For the 6mm for the Pagani I believe this is the one.

Different than some of the other 6mm crowns. I've got a few different varieties and this one AliX and this was the one that fit without me having to do a tube swap. Unfortunately, they look sold out.

For the super premium one (recommended by pompompurin) you can get this one:

And it looks and feels better, but it is more expensive AND you will have to swap the tube.

What dial are you planning on using for your Pagani Explorer? Still have to deal with a 31mm dial. Do you have a 31mm dial available?
