Does anyone know the lug-to-lug measurement of the Viet-ruby case? I've been trying to figure out the subtle discomfort I feel from the Viet case, and I found out that it's a bit shorter compared to the gen case when I compared them. It's not a huge difference though.

Lil update on UV exposure.
It’s been almost two weeks under constant UV-C (254nm at 40W, 5cm away from bulb) exposure and there really isn’t much change to dial or hands. Lume still slightly working, but much dimmer now. Lume might be slightly yellow/orangier, but hard to tell since stock Raffles had a slight green tint to begin with.
On the otherhand, plastics were completely disintegrated.

So whatever material Raffles is making dials with, it’s quite strong. True tropical dials might really just be dependent on materials they used to make them.

Next, i will try a constant steam bath at 80’C for a few days and see if humidity will do anything

It was the white lumed dial. But the "white lume" always had a green tint to it, so the dial and hands were bit mismatched (the hands have a more pure white lume to it).

Humidity and heat was the answer for me. Just a couple of hours in high humidity at 75’C was enough to yellow the lume on the dial and hands. Better color matching than before. I’ll leave it in for a few more days to see if it’ll do anything more

i see, never knew that the white lume will turn yellow under heat!

There is something to replicate at home here.

There is a technique to cook fish in the oven where you put the fish plate in the tray and add water in the tray

This steams the fish while also roasting it.

That would give the heat and humidity conditions.
Also if you use the top grill function, the red hot grill will emit UV

Do we only use the fish if it's a Sub though?

My lab has a dry-oven (just a heat chamber used to dry things). I put my dial in a jar with water to create a closed humid environment (dial/hands on a platform so it’s not actually submerged in water).

You can do the same thing by putting them in a kitchen oven at low heat with a pot of water - but it’d probably be expensive electricity bill.

Do you think its possible that the previous UV exposure may have effected the results on the subsequent heat/humidity exposure?
