Just broke down and ordered a dial pad printer and some aluminum stock. I think I can make the cliches out of aluminum stock with the laser engraver, so with a bit of practice, we might have some options in our future...not the least of which will be the Railmaster and some variations on the Explorer theme. This is the printer (I'm pretty sure it's the only one being sold, under various names, like most Chinese stuff):

These are the aluminum "bars" I bought. The Dial printer takes 50x50mm cliches for printing. I'm thinking I can cut each of these "bars" into (3) 50x50mm pieces, polish them like a mirror, and engrave on both sides, so that should mean roughly 18 dials (although some dials will require more than one cliche, since they're printed in 2 colors).

So if y'all have any ideas or requests, let me know.

Wow that is cool stuff. Maybemaybe when you are comfortable doing stuff with date windows a 1675 MK1 Mate Dial (Long E) would be nice :D

I am quite happy with the cheap JKF dials.
The idea is to make builds that are very affordable. <400€

a Helenarou dial will run about 100€ from memory, so it breaks the concept.

I think I found a good option. What I need dials to experiment. You cannot do that with AliX dials as either they are really badly printed or the treatment experience is not transferable

Raffles makes the 5517 dial in 26mm and only it, whoever knows why 😅

It should be fairly easy to delete the "T"
Oh is the low price for a sterile dial and you have to pay extra for the print?

I’m thinking that one cliche with a chapter ring, one without, and a couple with SCOC and I should be able to do most dials, I’d just need specific ones for the variations on GMT, Submariner, and Explorer. Maybe some of the OP as well, with indices and crowns applied.

USA is a pain though 😅

Maybe not.

Most of us here are capable of some simple watch assembly/disassembly...I don't think it would be hard to mock up a sterile watch (or dial) and put something over the dial to obscure the branding. Masking tape would probably even work.

I don't think customs is going to take a watch apart to see what's under the sticker.

Also did the math wrong...3 pieces of 50mmx12 inches would be 6 cliches per bar, three bars in the order, and can engrave both sides...so 36 templates to experiment on, and the aluminum bars are pretty cheap, considering.

well I would order whatever dial you make 😁

what would work is a cheap round pokemon sticker printed on 3M post-it paper with that non stick repositionable glue

@ Rafflesdials ken, if u're reading this thread... please come up with a mk3 dial with lume and with NH dial feet.... lol

The swiss - t < 25 should be in between the chapter ring indices and not directly below the "6"

I wish Raffles would make that dial. That is the Mark II Service dial I seek.
Please Ken . . .

Lots to be done. I'm starting my 6538 but I'm still in search of the perfect Mark II Service dial for the 1016.
Then I'm having thoughts about the 14060M - which is a totally tricky kettle of fish.
Lots to do.
Keep at it Brothers.

So beside the Railmaster, the next challenge will be a 14060 (not the M) @316lad

I have a plan pretty set. and I think it might even be my test run before the Railmaster as less money involved

If you’re going to do the 14060 I insist you do the (M)
