imo i think the nh38 is the best choice for a 1016 build right now with the raffles case - no ghost date position, big surface area if mounting a non-NH dial, u can drop it in without any movement clamps and movement ring.I used a 2824, but I have a couple NH35/NH38 from Ali that I plan to use in some upcoming builds. I think the Raffles dials have feet for both, unless the 38 is different than the 35,
I picked this up a while back, because there’s instructions in it for building a dial feet soldering machine (yet another project on my plate, lol). There’s a chart that shows compatibility between mechanical and quartz watches, I’ll look to see if anything is a direct fit for the ones we use (citizen/seiko/eta).yup
also. if anyone has an idea for a quartz movement that could hit the Raffles cases...I would love to do a quartz 1016

1.6 mm stem height vs 1.8mm
that passes?
there is a space to figure out too.The 1016: The Under Appreciated Thread

But, hand hole sizes are very different to ETA or NH, so hands would need to be sourced.
Should you provide the page with dial solder schematics?I picked this up a while back, because there’s instructions in it for building a dial feet soldering machine (yet another project on my plate, lol). Quartz Watch Retrofitting by Wes Door
When there's a reason to retrofit, this book shows methods to achieve this task. Chapters include replacing a quartz movement, or changing a mechanical to quartz including replacing dial feet. Chapters include how to make a Dial Soldering Box and how to use it. The last chapter provides an...american-watchmakers-clockmakers-institute.myshopify.com
I glued my last tiffany with gs hypocement, work wellSo I guess the solution is still the standard double sided tape. Hmm.
Curious to see how it holds up overtime.
I have a spare NH movement that I might test to see if I can use the dial feet holes and DIY new dial feet positions for the ETA based dial I’m using…
It should be easy enough to 3D print a spacer to fit a Raffles case. Other specs:there is a space to figure out too.
but maybe the Raffles stock spacer can be adapted. Oh well, a project to the backlog
You wouldn't want to print it full height of movement though/ More like Height: 1.7mm and don't forget to leave a cutout for the stem.It should be easy enough to 3D print a spacer to fit a Raffles case. Other specs:
Diameter 23.70mm
Casing Diameter 23.3mm
Height 3.45mm thick
Beat Rate 14,400 vph, 2 Hz
Accuracy Rating +/- 15 sec/month
Battery Cell Number 371 (SR920SW)
Battery Life ~2 years
Stem 351177/tap 10 or 351892/tap 11
Hand Sizes 1.20mm / .70mm / .17mm
