I've heard the NH38 is a good way to go. That it's reliable, low beat, and already no date.alternatively u can buy a SW200 with the ghost position already removed.
ND - no date
it absolutely is. especially now that Raffles lists NH handsI've heard the NH38 is a good way to go. That it's reliable, low beat, and already no date.
NH38 better if you find themNo matter how much care I take, about 1 in 5 keyless works gets screwed up when removing or reinserting stems. I'm actually going to use NH35 for a few of my next builds for that reason.
It might be the cheap (as in, whatever is selling cheapest on AliX when I place my order) movements I'm using.
And having said that, am I silly for feeling wrong using a Chinese copy of a Japanese movement in a replica Swiss watch, rather than a Chinese copy of a Swiss movement?!?
Yeah i can aprove that. really relaible easy to work with.I've heard the NH38 is a good way to go. That it's reliable, low beat, and already no date.
Oh no, no, no DPD,I built my girlfriend a watch for Christmas (the much maligned "Flamingo Watch," lol) and used a NH35 instead of my usual ETA. I have to say, it feels much smoother than the ETAs I'm used to. It winds smoother, the hands set smoother, and overall, it feels like a higher quality watch.
Again, I'm sure it's partially due to using bargain basement AliX movements, but so were the NH35s I bought.
I know the Seiko 5 movements are legendary for their durability and ruggedness. So even a badly repped Chinese copy is probably at some advantage over a badly repped Swiss movement.
Looks like one of the microphones you can find pretty cheap on Ebay or AliX. It's what I use. there's a couple free downloadable programs to use with it, I use a couple and the results are consistent with one another, so it would seem to be accurate enough. Is that a selfmade timegrapher? D:
IOSwhat's that software? is that PC based?
Yup. I had the cheap microphone and PC software and it works fine but I make and sell a lot of Seiko mods so I bought a Weishi 1900 since it looks better in sales pictures also easy to do more positions with the nifty rackThese are the two programs I use with the $15 timegrapher. They're for a PC, and as 316 lad has linked above, there are options for a phone or tablet as well.
Tg timegrapher - download page
Tg is an open source timegrapher. The tg program is used to assess the health of mechanical watch movements, and to regulate mechanical watches.tg.ciovil.li
A timegrapher is essentially a microphone, there's not much more, functionally, than that. A standalone model will add a display and some buttons to control it, but it's still just a microphone, some software, and a way to interact and interpret the data.
