I got about half of the vector files I had someone convert today, they're not perfect, she manually retraced everything, and I think the fonts wound up a little bit off, but overall, I think they're much better as a basis for a waterslide dial than the original jpg files. The lines are MUCH cleaner and less pixelated. I'm not sure the slight differences in font will be apparent when it's printed on a dial.
Unfortunately, I can't upload .svg files to this site, so I can't really show a comparison. I guess I'll have to build a watch and show photos...or at least print a couple test dials.
Also, I found a great deal on a 20W laser, so might be able to start engraving metal. It's not as good as the drag engraver for between the lugs, but for odd stuff like the Tudor engravings on a caseback (or the 5517 case back/lug engraving) it might be a worthwhile option.
Also, it's powerful enough to cut through human flesh, so I can recreate the scene in "Goldfinger" and give a little extra authenticity to my 6538.
