Where I need to be.
Really helpful thanks!
So no real need to replate in general
I think that the stock RG colors for MOST reps can pass off as gen ones to be honest.
Of course, there are colors which are totally off (way too reddish or yellowish) but in general, the rep factories got the colors to an acceptable range I think. You can of course replate them to the color you PREFER but it will definitely not be the only color which resembles gen.

Yes, here is an example. In the pic, it is a gen 26420OI (43mm) vs a gen 26238OK (42mm).
The 43mm is newer by about 6 months, both were purchased brand new from the boutique. You can see that the 42mm ROO has a hue which is more reddish and the 43mm (about a month old in that pic) has a light straw gold color. There are other gens with a variety of rose gold hues.

My point is that there is no definitive gen rose gold color as it is a very reactive metal, but a range of colors which appear in gens. Any colors within the range will be "accurate to gen".

Great insight! Thanks for sharing. Is there also
variation within the same models or is the variation mainly between different models? I mean fx if two 15202Or are both new, could it be, that there is variation in the color?

I’d say the shade depends bastly of the “batch” of gold you get and then on the conditions the Watch is exposed too, so even between the same model it can change.

Never had a skeleton watch before and I think this one might have to be the first. What a beauty.

yes, variations exist within the same models, and different models as well.
If 2 15202s are brand new, and one has been in storage for a longer time, under different conditions, it can differ in appearance slightly from the other. But do expect the difference to be minimal. There is a specific color when the watch is brand new, but as soon as it starts being worn, expect the variations in color to be more obvious, and prodigious.

All reps of the 15xxx series are like that. I have the APSF 15400 and it is exactly the same. Factories don’t seem to be able to the the geometry of this watch right
Hi, all -- just out of curiosity, what manufacturing process makes it complicated to achieve that geometry? Or asked more positively, what is AP doing in their manufacturing process that's different? Some gen timepieces are impressive when you see what went into their production... I wonder if this is a special expertise at AP?

I think more important than second wheel is weights that belong on the outer edges of the wheels. From front view even that is noticeable. I ordered the V2 and approved QC just waiting for package to arrive. I think if they want to make an improvement then they should add the weights even if they are faux and not real weights they should add them.

exact reason I‘m hesistant in ordering the V2 yet.
I am hoping they dish out a V3 with that ironed out.

I have a THB V2 15407 on the way. I thought about this exact thing, adding a ZF balance wheel with the fake balance wheel weights. I wonder if this would work. If I had to choose just one mod, between upgrading to 2 balance wheels, or just having one with fake weights, I would prefer just one with the fake weights since it's so noticeable from the front. Does anyone know if swapping to a ZF "fake weight" balance wheel is possible? Any recommendations on a WM that could do this exchange (if it's even possible)?

Another thing that's bothering me is the case shape on the THB V2. There is way too much space between the bezel and the end of the case by where the bracelet attaches. The gen is so much thinner. Instant tell for me. Anyone know of a modder who could fix this?

As legend has pointed out, if you want a 1:1 gen, then buy the gen. Even without these mods, I will still be happy with my purchase. Just like many of my build/franken endless pursuits, I'm always trying to get my rep builds closer to gen. It's part of the fun of this hobby!
