I will send this information to the coater tomorrow, they still have not seen all the sizes. When they approve, I am ready to take the crystals. I will send a pm with instructions to you when I am ready! NOTE! No money sending yet!

I also know now how to strip the old AR correctly, a special thanks goes to PeteM! He has a lot of information about polishing compounds and techniques. I will use the best available. Thanks bro! Need to give you a good discount :cheer:

Here's a tip:

Use a cap off a pill or vitamin bottle. Make sure the cap is slightly smaller than the crystal and use some cloth to protect it. Pop it out!

Take a clock, a thick marker and a hammer...

No kidding, i have done that on a po crystal which didnt want to come out! At least till that point cause the hammer had a different opinion...

concerned about you refitting it if it's that hard to remove.

Wish I could've got in on this, I have a few worth candidates!

Lets hope this all works like clockwork (pun intended) and the coating hits it out of the park, then a 2nd and 3rd round of coatings will hopefully happen P4GTR.

I may have another crystal for coating but I don't have a proper tool to measure it
It's from Heuer 300 SLR.
Anybody has any idea about the diameter of it?

That is one very strange 3717 with 36 mm crystal - all I have seen so far had 35,4 mm dia.

regards

Thanks, updated!

maybe u r right. I don't have accurat measure to figure it. Thanks!

OVERALL WARNING! This might cause problems if the measurements are not correct. I need to let the coater know all the diameters and then they check if they have holders. If the diamater changes in the last minutes, they might not have a correct holder. I will measure all crystals once more when I get them and check if I need to send information to coater. Maximum loss for you guys is that I sent the crystal back uncoated.

Carrera DD crystal is 37,0 for sure. IWC Mark XVI is 33,5 mm dia.

regards

Yep, thanks again! 36.9 mm vs 37.0 mm does not matter, but as the uncoated frame is supposed to be 0.3-0.5 mm, 35.4 mm vs. 36 mm really does matter.
