I quoted my own post to try to compare this strap now to what it looked like back then. Now that I look at it, it may have not changed much physically but… so I spent a lot of time trying to break this in. I kept bending and stretching it. One day I was using some hand lotion/moisturizer and I ended up applying a little to the strap. It then started to change and I think it looks and feels really good now. The leather now feels soft and it has a nice patina that looks really good. It looks more black than midnight blue now (depending on the lighting).
I have had this strap on the 1033 for a week now and it keeps catching my eye and I just think it looks and feels so good.
It’s interesting because I wouldn’t have applied that hand cream normally and I am lucky I did. Now that I did I like this strap a lot more and I fee like it changed quite a bit. It made a huge difference in the look and feel in my opinion. It looks great on the 1033 too in my opinion.
Anyway I thought this would be good to post just to illustrate that sometimes straps need some
Work before they look their best.

Ahhh, the never ending Corrigia problems
I had done a similar thing, because a strap I received from Corrigia looked nothing like the pics. I managed to get it closer with some leather balsams, mink oil, etc.
It looked much better then, but that is not the point I think. The more straps I buy, the less happy with with Corrigia I am.
The lack of consistency is really amazing but also the straps often have many small faults, that I can't accept anymore. Who knows, maybe I got spoiled by other strap makers....
