Most seasoned rep buyers here steer clear of the cartels becasue they gouge prices. But when it comes toi muscling someone else on cutting off supply. Then I take offense to it. I see how it works. If it's the same price just buy from the crtel because it's easier. The dropshipping and bullshitting kept me from that crap and most here may have ordered one or two or just "had to have" one they offered from a certain factory.
I would formally like to ask the admin to have a price comparison section and give a quality rating of product of 1-10.
Example
Bell and Ross 01-92 Qualitative rating Comments
Seller x $255 7 Only offers rubber strap No AR but same quality dial and case
Seller y $265 8 Offers 2 versions, ask for v2 ( more details in here)
Seller z $300 9 Best version available wit AR

Price comparison section would be very difficult, because availability and pricing fluctuate so much in response both to customer demand and pricing of other dealers. If it were done, it would probably only be feasible for a few models, as there are over a thousand current models out there. Would be a very very helpful resource, though, so if feasible I support the idea too!

Just another couple of observations from a newish member, Dave you do tend to wind people up with your manner/way of saying things, however you brought an interesting turn of events to light, just work a bit on your people skills and try not to be so negative sometimes. Swiss, you may have some valid points but it's plain to see that you have no time for Dave and that you have mission in life to disagree with everything he says/does. Would you rather events that have occured being left in the shadows with the majority of members being left in the dark? Both of you should pick up your teddys and put your dummys back in, it's not good to air your personal vendettas in public.
My comments were not directed at anyone in particular. The cat is out of the bag and like we say , pick your dealer then your watch.
About a pricing system, it would be hard, i just go to my 4 or 5 sources that i trust and compare that way, then i post in the forums for comments on quality and service. I guess the 1% that contribute here( That's a whole other thread to gripe in) can post what tyey are looking for and the rest of us can pitch in and make comments from personal experience, heresay or observations or just from plain old expertise.
I like a pro- con consumer reports format and it would be helpful. a comment like "the price of this one was hiked upo due to a threat from dealer x to cut off supply" would be an eye opener.

Points taken, and I would not at all rather that members are left in the dark.. It's about time people know the truth. I just want to clarify this one point... I never really had a problem with Dave.. we just butt heads when it comes to fakey or Josh. And we have butt heads pretty hard. But aside from that I never had problems, and I even like him and have been friendly with him both publicly and in PMs.. I don't hate the guy or anything at all like that, it's not a personal vendetta/mission or whatever, we just have a couple of topics where we have very differing views.sconehead said:

True point above,i have no issue with SA,like i said,he follows every 'josh thread' on 3 forums taking his jabs where he can,and i am always there to counterpoint it....most reading this thread don't know that,thats why you don't understand it....
Dave I totally understand sticking with what you know and trust and are comfortable with... I overspend on many things in my life just because I am used to them... my barber, certain brands, certain restaurants, etc. You've been buying from Josh for a long time, you have a personal relationship with him, he treats you well, you stick with him.. no problem. Hont is a good dealer, though - a fair and honest one, and a nice guy to boot - and he's been around a while even if he's relatively new at RWI. A lot of his watches are $50+ cheaper than from Josh, too, and I know 50 bucks may not be much to you, but for a lot of members it is.
Btw, everyone makes mistakes, so it's probably best not to stand by anything you say no matter what.. that kind of stubbornness can get you into trouble... it's gotten me into trouble plenty, especially with the girlfriend

I would love to just let it go, but you're talking bs again.... I tell my experiences with Josh, or mention alternatives that are less expensive and do not drop ship.. and you jump in to counterpoint it. What's there to counterpoint when I tell a true story of my experience? When it comes to Josh I post when relevant.. to clarify, to share my experience, or to help others. Be careful about making these misleading claims here.. Keep in mind people here can easily jump on over to RG or RWG1 and see the truth, and then you'll look foolish.dave123 said:
