@ Sconehead, Absolutely Nothing. The whole point of these forums is to let the people know what is going on. What people do with the info is up to them. Do I think this will cause a problem for the Cartel, no. Plenty of people will continue to deal with them for the ease of transacting business and the quick communication, regardless of the price or the way do business. I for one will not. There will be other forums that will not allow this to be common knowledge, but here you will hear it, like it or not.

Ask Hont if his access to AP is well these days,by the way.....

well... this was the EXACT threat made to hont that was a secret until you mentioned it here in this thread and brought it out in the open... This was not public knowledge until now, but you seemed to know all about it?
I don't really have a problem how Dave knew about it, do I sense a personality clash perhaps? But I do have a BIG problem with those who knew 'the secret' but were keeping it from the general membership, for f***s sake this info affects ALL of us, not just the chosen few...

from what i understand this issue with hont is a recent happening so it wasnt kept from the general membership at all. Our main goal is to protect the membership here. As dave mentioned, this topic was being discussed a year ago also, so its nothing new and shouldnt be a surprise to anyone. Its just funny that someone whos so "in the know" with Josh would mention hont not being able to access a certain watch... For additional reference, have a look at pugwash's "little white lies" thread.. its all the same cartel bullshit from last year.

Why should the replica watch business be unlike every other business?

The purpose for any business is to make the shareholders (I'm the one and only share holder in my business) as much money as possible. Period. It's not to play nice and be "fair." The winner takes home the most bacon.

My attitude about business is the same as Dave's. I would drive every competitor out of town if I could. Can any other member who owns their own business say they wouldn't do the same?

Sure. Air the "dirty laundry" here. That's one reason for the forum. It will change some people's minds, just as the 20 or 30 pages of this crap on RWGjr. last year did.

In the end you vote with your pocketbook.

Well I just have to jump in here with my 1st post to give my 2 cents.

When Angus announced his Skyland, many people including Dave cried foul. Saying that Angus was trying to sabatoge J/A Skyland sales. These same people defend J/A right to restrict access to watches by other dealers.

Hypocrisy or what?

@allergydoc, I agree that business is business. I am all for competition, but this is not to just reduce competition, this is to price fix so they can break it off in our ass with no recourse for us. Do not think for one second that I give a personal shit about any one of these dealers! Hell I am not related to any of them. i am only concerned about me. My money. I did not for one second think that they were there to offer me the very best price, but when you are trying to make it so that I have no option but to let you screw me, I get a bit perturbed. I agree vote with your wallet.

Dizzy,

Earlier, daytona said:

And for those who do not realize this......I did not know anyone other than J&A, Hont and the staff here knew anything about this.

You say that this was a very recent occurrence. My only question is this: if Dave had not opened this door, how long would it have been before RWI Admin would have posted a new thread titled "Things you now need to know"?

Not trying to do any more stirring than has already occurred here. Just trying to understand the level of information that RWI's masters feel is appropriate to disseminate themselves without being asked to begin with.

BTW, no one likes the Snook in my sig pic? :D

Agreed 100% BR, and this is pretty much what I posted above. I don't care one bit about the success of ANY individual dealer. I'm not shouting from the rafters about unfair business practices. The *ONLY* reason I care is that when this happens WE come out on the shitty end of the stick. I don't care one bit about the dealers, I care about the collectors, i.e. us. If this didn't impact MY bottom line at all, I couldn't care less. However, it does impact my bottom line, as it will result in higher prices for some watches.

@Dewey, to be completely honest, there is a thread in the Admin section that was started as soon as we found out about it. The discussion was centered around how to put out this information without giving the appearance of the staff "picking sides" or "protecting one dealer over another". That's a really difficult question, and one that I'm evidently not smart enough to have a good answer for. Then this thread started and the rest is history...

like i said... the specific issue with hont was very recent and i myself just heard about it yesterday... the issue with the cartel and their price fixing has been going on for a long time. This information has been discussed openly for over a year on all the forums, so information wasnt being kept secret from anyone. ANyone who reads the forums knows about the "cartel" :) Its been widely discussed.

I've read the posts you mentioned from the past with interest previous to this discussion months ago. I've bought from Josh and Ruby off the recommended lists as well as a few deals from CQ out and through members. This ain't 'bullshit' in my book though. As it's always been said, pick your dealer carefully. I for one prefer Ruby to everyone else I've used, purely for her service and pricing. Hopefully some of the newer members (I'm fairly new myself) will read this thread and make their minds up as to who to trust, dealers and members included, as I feel a lot of people have showed their hands today in this post and the one that was moved to the looney bin.
It's really pissed me off at times and I tried to hang fire being new but I had to say something in the end.
Anyway, rant over...

Hooligan, your response is very respectable and acceptable. Exactly what I wanted to know.

Re: not wanting to protect any Dealers, I think that is exactly what RWI does when it vets dealers to do business here. I also see no reason not to promote certain dealers and try to protect them to a certain degree when it is determined that they are fair, reliable, responsive and here for the long haul. There are many fly-by-night operators in business who start out trying to crush the opposition with unreal low prices and overly generous customer svc only to fall back to their true nature when their competition is ground down.

What are you talking about,i sent Angus pics of my white dial SA so that his maker can copy it,thats why the SA rep is delayed right now...i have no issue with him or i wouldn`t have emailed those pics like he asked me to...

Not crying foul...he was taking orders and money for a watch he can`t provide for some time, thats all,and saying its better, thats not proven,Angus didn`t have access to the first version Skyland, thats why he was doing that....

Nice post,AllergyDoc by the way, your post was exactly my point.... 8)

Ever was it the same then as now..

the issues is not caused by anything but customer sloth and indolence, with a willingness

to pay any price

perhaps what is needed is a rep watch of the month club, for $1,250.00 a month you receive

a 'Super-Rep' each month.. (refer to the online brochure for other options)

and those who love the idea of dealers having 'fun' with other dealers?

LOL, just wait for the movie subtitles!

Is all good clean fun!

Life is Good!

This came to light within the past 24-36 hours.... as with everything on the board, we investigate what we are told and then make a decision on how to act...

It was not a matter of if, but when it would be made known....

I must say that I have had great experiences with Andrew but I have also had unsatifactory experiences with Andrew (or those pretending to be Andrew). I have also knowingly overpaid for cartel reps just because of the customer service advantages.

I'm not suprised about price fixing; I always assumed this along with bullying of other dealers. Price fixing can s**k my c**k.

I do know that the pro-business/kill the competitor stance of a few members I respect here is mostly hyperbole. But, you know, I couldn't live with myself if I took poor patients' money who needed my service but could not afford it. Anyway, thats probably why I don't have doctors' money now. God, the sound of my moralizes makes me sick. :) I'm a amoral m**ther f**ker who hates the idea of exploiting people. :)

there is a very different reason josh is offering free stuff with his. lol

HK,he is offering that to all that bought the f'ed up version before the correct version came out, which like i said a million times now,he sells for $268,not $298....

Your right SA,i have not asked Hont is he will be giving free SS bracelets to those that are buying the f'ed up version he is still selling, maybe you could ask that for me,wanna place bets?....

Yes,he is a little cheaper then Josh, again selection limited, after sale service unknown,he is new, nothing wrong with that, but people on the forums longer then 6 months or so,buy from Josh,no need to risk the unknown....except the mods here (behind the scenes reason for that change in tune,Josh is still the same dealer they were pushing heavy here a year ago)...

Ask Hont if his access to AP is well these days,by the way.....

hello dave , how many pcs APROO,you need?

100pcs? 50pcs? --- i am sure i can offer ---if you want to see,i can show you APROO in webcam now,no problem, :D

While I was away some drama unfolded here. Looks likke a slip of the lip brought out the truth in what goes on here. Maybe some "steering" yes. I do see it in Rep Geek by alot of people. Its not new.

I think this is an unbiaed forum and should remain that way. Maybe a new subject of price comparisons if someone would take the time to do that. Like a price grabber for reps. Or just ask and most would be willing to help.

Was Hont muscled? if so then that's a douche move.
