Hello Everyone,

I'm fairly new & very thankful for all the info here & Reptime.
I'm very perplexed about my skin reactions to my new & very first Rep, a VSF Submariner 124060, bought for $551 from Steve-Theonewatches. I had an excellent experience with Steve btw.
  • I actually own a Gen 124060 bought from my Rolex Boutique in October 2024 & I have never had any skin reactions to any watches or jewelries in the over 50 years I’ve been alive.
  • I have cleaned the bracelet thoroughly at least 10 different times.
  • I do not wear my watches tight at all.
  • I even tried putting a new plastic sticker on the caseback
  • I also put a band aid on my wrist & STILL got the skin reaction-->>tried it with & without plastic sticker on caseback.
  • I get these skin reactions after only about 30-60 minutes of wearing my VSF Sub on either wrists.
I just ordered a 126500 Daytona Panda CF so I’m really hoping that this VSF Sub 124060 skin reaction is just a RARE anomaly.
Perhaps it is some kind of manufacturing “defect” on the metal or maybe it’s radioactive-LOL?
I really want to get a few more Reps because I think they are beautiful, fun & present good values. I planned to wear Reps daily & save my Gens( Sub Date, No Date, Vintage President 36 mm, etc. ) for more special occasions. I'm also very impressed with how the VSF Sub 124060 Rep( 2nd to last pic ) compares with my Gen 124060. Pretty much indistinguishable when worn on the wrist.
I appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Nickel allergy
Sell that rep
As per my original post, I've never had any allergic reactions to any watches or jewelries so I do not think it's Nickel allergy. I also have no skin reactions whatsoever to any of my SS watches including a Gen 1996 Sub Date, my Gen Sub 124060, Gen Tag Heuer, etc.

is it really Nickel he's having trouble with?
I do not think it's a Nickel allergy because I get no skin reactions when wearing any of my SS Gen watches. I hope it's just a rare anomaly with this VSF Sub. Really hoping the Daytona 126500 CF that I just ordered will work out because I've been on the waitlist for that Panda with my Rolex Boutique for a while.

Different watches can have different material compositions, it's not like rep manufacturers are following exact guidelines for material standards

Actually VS was found to have 316L more so than 904L composition so maybe you're allergic to 316L blend 🤷‍♀️

Exactly this. Sell the rep and buy from another factory, it may work out much better.

That is certainly a possibility. Thanks

I actually ordered the CF 126500 Daytona so If I end up selling the VSF Rep, I'm just going to donate 100% of the proceeds to a reputable Charity. Thought about donating it directly but I do not think the Rep is worth anything to a Charitable Organization.

I dont get why you want to donate to a charity organisation? But thats always a good thing.

:ROFLMAO: I actually own 2 Gen Subs( 1996 Sub Date & 2024 Sub No Date ) so maybe this VSF Rep Sub is just radioactive-LOL!
I am absolutely with you, Subs are the best:)

It's sad cuz so many people here & on Reptime have bought & enjoyed this same VSF Sub & I seem to be the only one that got a skin reaction. Just lucky I guess:ROFLMAO:

Most of the guys here cant imagine these days. I was also to young, i had to wait 1 month for my Datejust in 2023 and 8 Months for my Sub in 2021.

Love the DJ also. Glad you got it. Back in those days, PP Nautilus & AP Royal Oaks were also readily available. I felt very lucky to only wait 2 weeks for my Submariner 124060 back in October 2024. The Daytona Panda is a very different story--waiting & waiting...LOL!
