I wish that was the case. I actually like to wear my watches a bit looser. My Rolex SA even teases me that I like to wear my watches loosely.I'm wondering if you're just wearing it one notch too tight?

I will certainly add the one & only Pika Factory Shelters to the list of Charities I support. I got nothing but love for Pikachu & friendsPika Factory Shelters is an awesome Charity.
They take care of old Pokemon.
I agree & I actually did all that repeatedly over a number of days & even did the dawn soap wash on the bracelet later, but still got skin reactions every time. I think this VSF Sub was programmed by Chinese Intelligence to specifically attack my DNA! They found out what I did in the US Military back in the day! When taking the wrapping off the watches, wipe the bracelet and watch down with alcohol wipes, then wipe with a clean microfibre towel.
The sticky glue on the wrapping tape some factories use leaves a residue that some folks are allergic to.
HTH
Wouldn't be so sure. A recent thread analyses rep 904 steel and the amount of nickel was more than half less that of genuine 904.Nickel allergy
Sell that rep
Nickel allergy
Sell that rep
Strange idea, but try some peroxide on it. I’m wondering if there is something funky on the watch. If it fizzes it could be tel
Thanks very much for the info. I may just have to sell it. Just to reiterate, I do not like to wear my watches tight. I like to wear watches more loose than tight. I actually even wore this VSF Sub really loose(like sliding up n down my wrist) & it still caused skin reactions.Sorry, it was late yesterday and I did not take the time to elaborate
I think it’s a combo of several things.
1. The rep alloys are not the same as Rolex’s. It is possible that the nickel % is higher
2. While the finish of VSF is good, at microscopic level it is possible that it has more micro-pores than gen
3. Nickel particles might have remained in the steel
4. Indeed you seem to wear the watch a bit too tight (try that first)
I would suggest to get the caseback and the bracelet in several long ultrasonic cleanings, with rising and changing the water
Then a baby oil bath for the bracelet. Maybe for the caseback too, but you will have to clean the inside real good after
But all in all, I stand by my first comment. Anything even remotely resembling an allergy, you should be very wary and just steer clear
Yup, I tried that already over different days. I agree that it's a very impressive rep. I will sadly have to sell it. Thanks. After another clean try wearing It on the other wrist so you are not “re-activating” any previous irritation…has to be worth a shot because that’s a lovely rep.
Thank you. Sadly, I'm going to have to sell this VSF Sub. I hope the CF 126500 SS Daytona Panda I just ordered works out for me.How strange OP. Hope that you get to the bottom of it.
Gen or rep, the only time I've had anything like that was down to sweat irritation and warmer weather.
Thanks very much.These ....
.... in pic below are used in Mels shop since Covid for the food prep areas, till areas, toilets etc etc.
I've noticed I itch sometimes if I don't clean residue off after removing the wrappings.
Now bear in mind I work with vehicles and my hands get all sorts on them during the course of the day, oils, greases, rust debris, transmission fluid, brake fluid, brake cleaner, brake dust etc etc, most of which over the millenial years I am now used to
Since I've been using the wipes I don't get any reaction
In my workshop where all the watches get un boxed and sized, this tub has lasted since December last year and is still at least half full.
It's definitely frustrating as I've cleaned it daily(even multiple times a day) for the past 2 weeks & still get the same result on either wrist--I switched between left & right after 2 days & still got same skin reactions.Reaction to residue left on the bracelet/caseback from the plastic wrap? I have no idea.
Wouldn't be so sure. A recent thread analyses rep 904 steel and the amount of nickel was more than half less that of genuine 904.
As someone said before, to me it just seems worn too tightly...
Thanks for your suggestion but I do not wear my watches tight at all & prefer them a bit loose. My Rolex SA jokes with me about wearing my Rolexes loosely. I also wore this VSF Sub really loose on different days(on each wrist) & still got same skin reactions. I hope the new Clean Factory 126500 SS Panda I ordered will work out for me.Wouldn't be so sure. A recent thread analyses rep 904 steel and the amount of nickel was more than half less that of genuine 904.

Yeah, I forgot that part. Remember reading that yesterday now. Have someone else wear it to see if they get a similar reaction? The fact that you're still getting a reaction through either a sticker or bandaid is a little weird and almost inexplicable. So weird. It's definitely frustrating as I've cleaned it daily(even multiple times a day) for the past 2 weeks & still get the same result on either wrist--I switched between left & right after 2 days & still got same skin reactions.
I appreciate your suggestion & I really wish that was the answer; but I actually wore the VSF Sub really loosely to test that theory & got same skin reactions on both wrists(different days).I'm wondering if you're just wearing it one notch too tight?
I agree that it looks good on a NATO strap also, but I still get skin reactions from the caseback(not just the bracelet) even after putting plastic sticker &/or band-aids on my wrist. I tried it different combinations on different days & still got a skin reaction. After 2 weeks of constant cleaning & thorough experiments, I'm giving up on this VSF Sub. I really appreciate this forum & all the help.Just slap it on a nato strap and you'll be good to go
12 series looks pretty decent on one.
