Stock Cartel bezel is OK.

Agreed. Thought the grass was greener with WSO but realized afterwards cartel not so bad, just a little play. Now if I can get that crystal replaced I"ll be good. My cyclops is driving me nuts. Too distorted and not centered. Loved the cyclops on the WSO but just can't get it to fit without glue and I hate glue. If this $12 crystal doesn't fit I'm gonna try that $25 one. Best to get parts cheap if you can help it. Learned my lesson on the expensive parts for these.

My thing is this. I buy Gen but I buy Rep to try out first and if I like it I go gen. If I love it, I keep the rep. If I hate it, I stay away all together. For instance, liked the Sub I got, but wanted the Gen so I got one. Got the DeepSea rep and LOVE it so no need to go Gen. Liking this 1680 so might go Gen on this one but if I can get a good crystal and bezel supplier might stay rep on this. Great watch. Love being able to mix and match so if I can get this going I'm gonna pick up the rest of the 55 series ones too. 5513 or 5512 on my next order. Waiting on crystal though. Let's see how it plays out. I'll be sure to post my negative review if I don't like it to keep my pattern going. LOL.

Got my SD4K showing up tomorrow to fill that empty slot. Oh yeah.

That's sort of how it went for me. I usually end up just going gen because in the long run its the same money.

I am am often disappointed with the rep eventually. I do have a couple that are very good and impossible to replace with gen. The 5517 was a good example. That I'll never be able to afford but I appreciate it. I may build another one in the future.

And let's put this in perspective... A gen bezel assembly is about $600 on the open market if you can find one. But they do work nice!

Well that's an option of course. But the more you buy, the closer you are to Gen. I think to go that way though you might as well just by a crappy Gen and use the parts from it on your rep until you can build it back up again. That way you have 2 fun projects to work on.

Interesting...

my 1680 is actually a 3.9m so it "could" be a mk VI red... Particularly since it has a service dial and hands. But I went mk I white instead. The case is over polished, so it is being rebuilt to new spec. I'm getting a gen bezel assembly for it because the current (also over polished) bezel will look out of place on a sharp case.

Those service parts will be available to help offset the investment in other parts (don't ask what a mint Mk I white dial goes for), but I suppose I could use them for a super rep...

I have a near mint MK1 Lemrich 1680 dial, beautiful pale honey patina on lume plots....let me know if you're interested.

Thank you for the offer Tripdog, but I'm all set. I have one that was labeled as NOS but careful inspection of the dial feet and hash marks indicated it was installed once. But it is hard to tell its not new!

id like to get a nicer insert at some point but I have the correct one so no rush.

I also have the NOS top hat, NOS 702 crown and NOS 702 tube. I've been on the hunt for an early (no date code) 93150. These look like 9315 clasps on 93150 links as you probably know.

Finally some 9315 links and diver extension for my 9411. I have a correct and very nice VC date code clasp which is correct for that serial.

Its doing a number on my bank account.

Yes I expect it is making a big hole in your bank account... I have a no date 9135 clasp with flip lock , certainly not NOS (I wish...) but it is in good condition....dates as you know from around '70 - '73.

Nice! What do you want (maybe a trade?) for the clasp? I think I have another 9315 clasp but I have to check.

PM if you want.

Thanks!

I'm very disappointed in Rafflestime and Ken Chua, 3 emails and no explanation, no offer to help or provide a caseback that fits and no offer of complete offer partial refund. Very Disappointed, I was told a long time ago to stick with Yuki but raffelstime had a few good things Dials was not on the list of good things now I guess we can add casebacks that are good for nothing.
