Precisely. That sums up exactly why asuwere is wasting his and everybody else's time with his over-blown DIY episodes of "How It's Made".
Haha, I love How It’s Made. There’s a kids version called Do You Know and I’m a little bit in love with the presenter Maddie , just thought I’d share that with you all.
Anyway, back on topic, I can see what asuwere is pointing out, like the last little section at the bottom edge of the bezel looks like different layers, BUT I think his explanation is a bit far fetched and would indeed be more effort than just using all one type of carbon. At least my initial assumption of Z+F case with totally custom bezel made sense, but even I can now see it’s a custom case and bezel. Imperfections in the layers maybe, who knows, who cares, I love my Z+F but the layers ain’t perfect, as everyone is pointing out you have to be realistic with what we’re paying for these watches.
That said, we still don’t know what this latest ABD costs, so hard to comment. I’d like to point out that my issues with ABD started back when they were hand sanding stock rep bezels to get the gen like finish, and it did look great, but wasn’t worth the price they were charging (in my opinion) as much as the work was skilled and looked good, you still essentially had a Z factory watch with all its other flaws. What they are doing now is nothing like that, it’s proper custom ground up case work. That is understandable to charge for. I’ve paid close to $800 just for a Rolex dial from Phong before now because they are custom and absolutely beautiful!!
So, we await prices, but as far as the product I have no issues here now!
The RM011s.... that’s maybe another matter! Hopefully they are looking into custome RM011 cases too and can make that rep thinner, as the KVF is like a box on your wrist!
