He says he wants to reply to “the minion DC” but I messaged him on WeChat two hours ago and have had no reply, so he can’t be that keen to defend himself or explain the differences and exactly what they are charging all that money for!

DC
I assume he's on this forum and have read this thread?

Ok so i got some goodies for yall. i received these from ABD and the video is off their Moments recently posted.

The pic i posted from before was from feb 2020 and it was my fault. i clarified it with ABD and it wasnt the latest one.

From the video, it looks like they ARE making their own custom case... video shows them milling the mid case.

Also, i asked why is the rm35-02 thinner than gen, the answer i got is because they were aiming for the 35-01 thickness with the 02. and thinner is better anyways so..

enjoy~

Good to see this video. I withdraw my words about my doubt if they make their own bezels/cases. I stand corrected.

A little detail on a sidenote: The ABD case looks thicker than the ZF. A watch has to be measured in the middle, where it's thickest. And that has to be done on both compared watches (on the same spot).

That doesn't take anhything from the ABD rep though, it looks fantastic in bezel and case. Case shape also looks good.

If someone who already have the ZF bought the ABD, it would be basis for a fantastic review.

Thanks for the rational and reasoned reply. Seems they have finally got their act together and are making what they claim to be making which is good to see.

Must be some optical illusion going on in your first picture as the ABD definitely looks thicker, but even if they are being a bit tricky with the callipers it’s pretty close in any case.

Dare we ask about prices?!

Also worth noting, the gen RM035-02 is actually thinner than the RM035-01. Sounds counterintuitive as it’s got the rotor adding thickness to the movement, but those are the facts.

RM035-01 on top (basically the thickness of the Z+F rep) and RM035-02 on the bottom (neither rep are really coming close to this).

Just a note here for Aurasash we addressed this in a HD ticket from your contact in here, you are absolutely not banned or shadow banned (that doesn't exist here by the way).
If you have issue login in your account, open a HelpDesk ticket (you don't need a valid account here to do it) and I'll reassign you a password myself if you can't change it yourself.

ABD are not TD here, but they aren't banned from being talked about, there's a "non TD" review section in which anyone is free to leave feedback from them, the more feedback people will leave with the biggest amount of detail on the transaction, the best everyone will be able to decide for themselves.

As a non TD the only rule here is : no advertising by any means, this also mean, no new account coming out of the wood to advertise everywhere and always mention the fact that they are not a TD here.
Experienced members now what's up, it's mainly aimed at protecting the new members that are not familiar with how everything work.

If someone want to tell them that, it's the only way to resolve issue, not contacting people on wechat, that won't work.

Ah i stand corrected, i have always thought that the 02 is thicker due to rotor.

as for the prices im not entirely sure as i havent asked for a quote.

oh also, ive been told that the latest ABD rm35-02 can be fitted with Gen straps.

Glaude i have passed the message along. Thanks

Howdy everyone!

Thanks Glaude for assisting with the helpdesk ticket. Appreciate your help and I do remember the rules.

Well saw a huge storm above with all the questioning sand demands for answers.

For those that know me will know I’m an easy going person and cool with most stuff. But i suss out troublemakers fast and my attitude towards them changes even faster. I’m never arrogant but my demeanour changes faster than you can say RM.

This is your playground, I respect the rules and the Mods and that’s about it. If someone thinks that I’m rude to any Oldtimer here then there’s definitely a reason to it. Oldtimer doesn’t mean you’re right, doesn’t mean that I have to respect you for zero reasons. Respect is earned that’s what I believe, it goes both ways.

Now, a few guys has been demanding that I EXPLAIN my work, EXPLAIN my pricing. Seriously, why do I need to explain to you how I run my business and the need to explain to you my process, costings and selling price? Get a life man you’re not my auditor and even my auditor knows less than 70%! ????

I’m not here to be rude on my first posting since months but phew the audacity of some. Now the funny thing is, as mentioned to me by a member in private, why are these goons comparing ABD’s work to ZF???? Why aren’t they comparing it to the Gens???? ZF is not even carbon for F sakes!

Anyway I’ll take my time and reply some questions now and then. I have more important things to do like producing modified parts and not here to face a so called panel of self appointed judges. If I don’t response fast, pls don’t whine cos I’m not obligated to.

Pricing. Do remember, all the forum sales don’t even account for that tiny % of sales here in China so do be realistic and not demand that factories listen to you. As modders we want to bring the best to the game, we don’t need you to tell us that. And if you think as modders you can get parts done in small quantities and in excellent quality with cheap pricing and in short notice, I sincerely welcome you to come China and take a look and dig around. Pls don’t tell me stuff you hear this you hear that, that’s hogwash, come China find me one factory that can do stuff cheap, small volume and high quality in short notice and I’ll gladly send u a free RM every time we create one.

Peace ✌️

Something I noticed about your bezels is the layering. You've got some nice layers on the top/front surface, but go down a mm or so and I see the old carbon layering. So you're just putting a thin new surface on top of the old one? Looks that way since the bezel also appears thicker. Can you do a full carbon bezel instead? That would be nicer.

Hi Aurasash

Oldtimer here!!

I appreciate you coming on here and explaining things. This is exactly what I intended to discuss when I messaged you yesterday, as I agree the animosity has gone too far.

I won’t apologise for questioning pricing, I’m afraid that is part and parcel of the discussions on this forum, but you are right you have no obligation to explain and ultimately if people pay it then that is the value.

I had concerns initially (and still some regarding certain product lines) but will happily acknowledge that this RM035 looks superb, and depending on price I’d be delighted to own one (though doubt you’d sell to me, which is fair).

My concerns were and are chiefly over products which seemed not that far different from stock rep but for which a high premium was/is being charged, if I think fellow members and yes even friends are being ripped off then I will say so, that is all.

As for my friend, he will tell you himself that I defended you when he was concerned over lack of contact and changing stories, I said you weren’t a scammer and he needed to be patient. Do I think what he got is worth the money? No. Is he happy? Yes. So really that is all that matters!

I would like to stay informed about your offerings, chiefly because like it or not people do come to me to ask advice, and if pointing them in your direction is right for what they want then I will do it if I believe they are getting a great watch at a fair price.

Like I say, I don’t know what you charge for this latest RM035 but is does look superb so we’ll done!

Lets end the unpleasantness here!!

I found a better comparison pic.

this their latest RM35-02 stacked above the ZF. crown, case and even carbon is different. thickness too.

BrFCW.jpg

See the ABD banding on the subsurface carbon layers. That looks like a Z Factory (not ZF) RM with a new top surface applied. Doesn't look water tight either. My main issue is the seemingly inconsistent quality.

This was exactly the kinda thing that happens.

Ummm I honestly dunno how to feel reading your questions. How does one layer new carbon over old carbon? Especially when it’s curved? Bro, you can’t be making statements based on a few photos and claim that you saw old carbon below???????????? that’s absolutely not true. If you’re a carbon scientist I’d seriously consider offering you a high salary to take over our carbon specialist here and I wasn’t being sarcastic!! Your statement is sooooo horrific tbh.

Answer to your last question, ummmm it’s a full carbon bezel. What else could be in there????????????? Carbon n resin which is white, not my juice????????????

I've moved this topic to the Non TD review area, as it's best fitted here, but left a redirecting note in the RM section.

As long as this thread is kept civil with one another like it's required anywhere else on this forum, everything can be openly discussed.

Arguments can be made and opposing opinion too, of course, resorting to insults will not be tolerated, but I'm sure you guys can keep your cool, if you can't, best to walk away

You can layer your carbon using different grades of stock before you compress your block and mill it. If you layer correctly you can reduce your cost by putting the cheaper stuff in the middle, as I'm sure you know.

So how you gonna layer new carbon ontop of an already milled Z factory bezel as u claimed what that was..
