It is very close and does have some shine to it and also the correct tint. Biggest thing for me though is the quality of the engraving and platinum finish which is perfect on mine. I don’t currently have a gen insert to compare but I’ve owned several and this is good enough in my eyes to save the big expense of a gen insert!

I’ve just ordered an Arf subc for someone and also a V2 insert as they now come without the bezel set so should fit straight in.

Thats it, im not seeing myself buying my first rep in the near future.... I simply cant stand flaws. Even the microscopic ones.

Interesting attitude. Now, what do you think of this GEN (actually on sale for >12 k$)?

Look at the date in the date window: it's quite too low.
Have a look at the gaps between the lugs and the sels.
And you don't need a microscope, not even a magnifying glas... ;-)
Once again, this IS a GEN.

Its 20+ years old, who knows who owned it and what was done to it in that time

Regarding the datewheel, it's properly centered. Have a look at my post here to see why. I am constantly surprised at how often I read about even very experienced rep hobbyists making this mistake. Pretty much any datewheel can be made to look centered by very slight camera angle adjustments. TDs do it all the time. You have to look at the cyclops/date window relationship first.

You're joking right? I mean you've been asking all kinds of funny questions over the last year so you must know all watches have flaws even gens. It's particularly evident if you put them into to a microsope.
