I have the raf insert in my wso, but it was a little too loose. So I used a few tiny dabs of hypo cement to secure it. Just make sure not to get any on the internal teeth.

The gen insert does not fit in the raf assembly so probably not. It will be too loose

I personally love the color of the ra/ar bezel. Insert. I know the gem came in many different shades. I also have a wso insert, but I don’t like it as much. Of course this is all subjective, and it’s nice that there are subtle differences that can all ring true to the gens.

Yes, I’ve done them myself, it’s been a learning experience for sure. I have a few basic watch tools. I’ve been doing simple mods for a few years.

Received my RAF 16610LN (no rehaut) recently. Seems to have most of, if not all of, all the discrepancies discussed through this thread. Crown has wrong “dots” and sits a little high. Date font looks good to me, but is ever so slightly left justified. Clasp coronet doesn’t look off center to me but I don’t have as good of eyes as some of the more long standing members here.
The bezel…. Ugh. So, the click sound and action is good enough for me, but the wobble (or vertical play) is upsetting. Lastly, the pip is off center/ right justified. I intend to slowly collect gen parts to franken this over time, but for now I’m thinking of just ordering a WSO bezel/insert/washer/click spring combo.

I’ve got one on the way. Could you notice the pearl and dw misalignment from the qc pics? Also could I see what dots you have on the crown? That insert pearl - wow! There seem to be quite a few gen inserts on ebay at the moment. Good base to franken.

I didn’t notice the pip until after I gave it the green light. Not super upset since I plan on gen parts over time. I’ll get a direct pic of the crown later today. Basically, the center dot is larger than the other two surrounding dots.

Lol yeah the pearl is a bummer but oh well. I don’t know if I’m just seeing things or if it’s the angle of the pics but I’m starting to think my six o’clock marker is tilted a little. I love how this hobby makes us scrutinize the tiniest things

in my opinion the old 16610LN ARF was much better in everything. Especially if you look at arms and claps.

IMHO Raf dial is better. The rest is a bit random, depending of whatever leftover parts they assembled it with. I also think that ARF (engraved EO6) is better overall than the old JF with bevelled edges. This new CL06 RAF bracelet also looks better than the old JF. Note that some RAF come with the older JF bracelet.
It's definitely not on par with nowadays 6 digits quality but it's (unfortunately) still the best budget 5 digits base if you wanna franken

Received my WSO bezel and insert. I gotta say, I’m severely disappointed. The pip is is just awful. Screams rep. The bezel itself is ok at best. The teeth have way less grip to them than the RAF bezel. Once installed, the WSO bezel has significantly less vertical play, but there’s still some play. If I mess with the vertical play there’s a weird metal on metal “scrunching” sound. Never had that issue with a TC or WM9 sub. For now, I’m gonna just source a gen parts as I come across them. Hopefully a gen full bezel assembly will fit the RAF.
