Hey guys, really sorry if I look like dumb 🙈😬
Is this one above , Geonor’s one, RAF or ARF? And, if possible, whom did you source from?
It's JARRAF? Nobody really knows. People here say the case is most alike to the old JF case and the bracelet looks like old ARF. The bezel insert does not look like old ARF though and Hont who I bought this from told me verbatim: "just old arf call new raf". All we know is that there's a new batch of 16610s in circulation that look pretty good and takes gen parts. It's not as good out of the box as a VSF 126610 but for me at least, that's part of the fun with these. I have some parts lined up to swap out already so I'm just taking it as a long term project.

Dang, This one looks like it's sticking it's arm out to ask a passing bus to stop. I love your mention of possibly improving it with a different crown because I'd planned to change the crown for a yellowgold one on my build. I was only buying the watch for the case really so will have to wimp out and refuse mine.
FYI, if you want your crown to be the gold version you might be in luck. I don’t know if I’m exactly correct, but I think mine has the precious metal crown, it has the crown that has a large center dot under the crown logo, as I think most of them do. I could be wrong but I think that crown is correct for gold watches and incorrect for stainless steel models. I will most likely swap mine out for a gen when I get a chance.

Same crown issue with mine. I'll fix it if it bothers me on the wrist. Prior posts talks about swapping the crown with another makes it better as well. Also, funny story, I asked for one with rehaut engravings but he sent me these QC pics and just accepted cause I liked it anyway. Hont might have swapped our orders lol

I was personally hoping for no engravings because I was worried it was one more thing to go wrong. However as far as I can see my engraving was well aligned so I GL. I think I still might slightly favor the look of yours. Oh well, c'est la vie!
When did Hont give you your qc pics?

I'm being a wimp for not buying the watch with the casetube poorly sunken. If it were a watch definitely for only me to keep forever I'd have probably bought it regardless but I am buying for a friend. But you think cor - they can't even get that small detail right. That bites.

I got my QC last Thursday. I was happy with either and the non engraving fits better with the crystal I'm swapping in anyway. Your engravings look spot on so congrats on that!

Will it be a surprise gift for a friend? If not maybe ask them their opinion and wether they can even notice it at all.
No rep is ever going to be 100% and as far as 5 digit subs go I feel this one is pretty darn close.
Don’t forget you can always reject a watch from your td and ask for a better one, make sure you tell him what you’re specifically worried about. Sometimes that works but ymmv

Somewhere in this thread there’s mention of how to countersink the hole so that the tube and crown will seat lower. It doesn’t seem terribly difficult but I’m not sure if that’s a step you want to undertake on your own though.
Some people here are crafty as hell when it comes to shaping cases, machining cases, even machining and milling their own parts! A lot of talented folks on this site that’s for sure.
The gap in The one in the qc above looks particularly evident.
The counterchamfer described in the thread is needed only if you want to replace the tube.
I did not replace the tube but I did replace the crown which works perfectly on the RAF tube and now sit egainst the case exactly like gen.

Yeah but I'm not worried about it. It's fixable one way or another and modding, casework and finding parts is part of the hobby for me and an excuse to use all my silly tools and put on the finger condoms. If I just wanted to buy a watch and wear it I would have bought something else than this one. I read the the whole thread before buying and went into it with open eyes.

I just looked at the eBay seller and he does have the sub case up. Little cheaper than the Datejust case, but not sure how good the quality is.

That's a really bad case for a project, sorry.👎

me too.
Did you recevied your QC Pictures ?
I was wondering, I ordered a RAF 16610LV but .. my QC Pictures of the RAF has a Rehaut and I tought RAF do not have a rehaut !?
I did receive QC pics, I posted them earlier. Do you mean the rehaut engraving? Both options are available on Trusty Time. I went for the engraved rehaut option, there are two separate listings on the site with and without engraving.

Does anyone know how well a Ginault bracelet would fit on one of these raf heads?
I’ll have to rest mine out when it comes in a few weeks. 😅

Thanks mate. I think I was being a wimp. ;) Perhaps the crown sticking out is acceptable for the rep. I was just disappointed because with previous five digit models like the ARF there was never this problem. And I personally don't need the movement, dial, hands, insert, bezel, bracelet etc for my build so I was hoping the little bit that I *do* need (just the case) would be brilliant.

Don't know about Ginault, but I can confirm what I wanted:

An ARF/Clean Bracelet from a 116610 (1LD Clasp) fit perfectly onto my recently received RAF 16610LN.
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love having the glidelock on the 5 digits.

I don’t have the watch in hand yet, but I did order a wso bezel assembly. Is there a trick to it that I’m missing? Shouldn’t the bezel be able to rotate when it’s installed on the retainer ring piece? I have pressed it on, I’ve tried it with and without the spacer washer and click spring, and once it is fully seated it will not rotate at all. I can separate the pieces, I’ve cleaned and looked for debris, but every time I snap the pieces together they will not rotate. I’ve watched YouTube videos, and i think I’m installing the pieces as they should go, minus having the actual watch.

Oo don't worry about that, you're fine. It won't rotate until the retainer ring is fixed firmly to your case and then you can see if it turns easily enough for your liking when there's some proper resistance. It's all good.

Oh ok, in my impatience I wanted to assemble it and feel the click action, but I will just have to wait and see once I get the watch in. Thanks for the quick response!
