Ok, I am really VERY bored this evening, so I decided for a short transition and to change the strap on my Le Mans again - from Oysterflex to a gen rolex leather band with gen WG clasp (from a 161519, I bought many days earlier. I have a lot of gen stuff from former times when I was modding and changing and ‚playing around‘ …

So, just changed the Oysterflex strap to a gen leather one with WG clasp - was not really a very hard or long entertaining thing, but now, after changed, I am REALLY in love again (as almost every day with this beauty) - in my opinion it takes the watch to another level - never have seen a daytona Le Mans with a leather strap - but it wows me, also the whitegold clasp - in my (first) feeling, it took 5 minutes to take the watch to 5 higher levels … and a watch that never has been seen like this (with gen parts)

And the comfort of wearing is REALLY many times higher than with an Oysterlex - so I guess I will leave it this way now

I guess people are so used to it seeing a daytona with SS bracelet or an Oysterflex, so they dont expect any other strap

But that‘s fine - I usually also like the Oysterflex really very much - but in moment trying to modificate the Le Mans in any ways, because there probably never will be GEN bezels or GEN dials or any GEN part of them to search …
… so it will ever be a question of personal taste

This is my 904 L (light weight) version of the newest iteration. Do the pushers look shorter?? To me they definitely do. Looks beautiful.

Also it’s definitely a SH movement.

Unfortunately it’s the same old QF case with short crown guards, long pushers and not angled toward crown guards— looks like the straight pushers we had on 7750 Daytonas. I only say this because you asked.

Its still beautiful overall, but for me if the case is wrong theres no point..

It’s annoying that no one makes the best of everything. Last week I heard that VSF has the best movement. But QF makes the heavy while Clean and VSF have avoided it.

Is there any downsides to tungsten builds that we don’t know about ? Then why doesn’t clean and VSF make tungsten heavy builds ?

At first I thought it had shorter pushers but after looking harder, you’re definitely right. The only thing holding me back from buying was the 12 hour counter so that pushed me over the edge to buy this one.

Tungsten has worse finishing than Steel. May not be obvious but it's fairly true. The harder material means finishing is a PITA.

Which is why people are doing tungsten core with steel around it. It's harder to work with.

Additionally not all of us are seeking a heavier watch.

Tungsten cases have been known to split or crack if improperly produced.

Welcome to the rep game. Most models don't have an obvious best version. Even Submariners have nuances to them. Just buy one and enjoy it.

V8 is non 24hr movement

V9 with 24hr subdial only offered in tungsten cases right now. And they're bloody expensive even at non TD, being priced higher than the new AP chronos.

My td got mine and tested it. Unless he lying which I highly doubt. He timed it for 9 hours and it was right on the 9.
