In this situation QF is still better than APS. Look at APS markers. Pointy and sharp.

The last step for the factories is a 24h subdial although I really don't think this will be done quickly. And even if it is done I would rather hope for stability over function.

10000% this. As nice as it would be to have a fully functional rep, I'd take serviceability and stability over a botched complication every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I don't think i have ever run my rep chrono more than 1 hour so it's not something that impacts my on wrist enjoyment.

Although one time on my Clean 116518 I forgot to stop the chrono after playing with it and let it run for 9 hours lol

Same here mate, I never run the chrono on any of my tonas, mosty due to it being a function I never really need to make use of!

Here are the two Le Mans side by side, I can't see huge differences but one certainly stands out! the APSF does not have the milky ring between the crystal and the insert while the QF does... and this makes a huge difference, the seller also assured me that the APSF dial has the sunburst exactly like the QF even if I still don't think anyone has received it in their hands and can take photos to confirm it!

QF still better. Compare subdials and markers. QF markers more rounded and gen like.

The subdials - first of all QF has better bolder printing. APS too thin. Second of all the 24hr subdial on APS is wrong. It has a 1hr and 23hr hash mark which doesn't exist on gen.

Indeed you are right about the 24 hour subdial and the printing of the subdials is bolder.

I struggle to see differences on the markers but I'm certainly the one who doesn't grasp the details.

Too bad about the milky ring, at this point QF continues to win, I'll order that one, it's a shame but the milky ring!

Milky ring very easy. Change gasket or crystal. I believe it is gasket.

It looks like SH has ditched the fake beat adjustor on the SH4131 / SH4132 movements. This is good (it’s a pain in the ass to service the balance with the decoration plate which is secured from the bottom). But it will make telling an SH4131 from a DD4131 much harder. At the moment the only “easy” way to tell the difference is that the DD has a skeletonized escape wheel and the skewed chronenergy gene petty for the pallet fork. While the escape wheel and pallet for are visible through the open caseback, they are tiny parts and obscured by the balance wheel and bridge.

I really need to update the comprehensive guide to reflect these changes. Better get my macro lens out and get some good pics!

Hey guys, I was looking to buy a QF Le Mans, but it seems like QF has swapped the movement in newer batches. Using the excellent comparison post from dogwood, it seems like they are using the new DD4301 instead. Can anyone help me verify this?

Shanghai movement factory has ditched the fake hairspring stud decoration on the balance bridge and moved the regulator and beat adjusters to point outwards like a Dandong movement. But I believe that QF is still using an SH4132 movement (which is an SH4131 with “4132” engraved on it).

That clarifies it, thank you! Should be easier for me to service as well!

QF is way better than APS factory’s version
Look at this. Perfection

Beautiful! I see you’ve swapped out the bracelet, looks great on the Oyster by the way, but is the quality of the bracelet from QF as bad as some say? Your thoughts?

People say it’s bad? I find it to be no better or worse than the oyster bracelet from BTF/CF Daytonas.
I have another ss Le Mans coming in on Friday which I will keep on the bracelet

Thanks for the feedback, there’s a good chance this will be my next watch!

I haven’t seen anyone say that about the Le Mans watch, but I kept an eye on this thread earlier today: https://forum.replica-watch.info/th...-qf-daytona-meteorite-heavy-version.10983686/ and feared it might be the standard for QF.

I agree its beautiful, but the crown guards are too short, and the pushers angled wrong.

And it looks good on Oysterflex, put the end link fit has huge gap, sorry. These end links may not be for 12 series case, or the QF case is not 1:1

I've not had QF or APS, but the APS case looks corretc, as do BTF, Clean, VS 😉
