So what's the consensus on which movement version to buy? It's using the same case regardless of VR3255 and A2836 right? Really curious on where that difference in weight is at. And if that 158g A2836 version is all weighted in the case it would feel unbalanced.

I vote 2836 because it's reliable and well proven. 3255 is nice and I haven't hard any issues with it but if it breaks you might as well toss the whole thing. VR3255 not avaliable on AliX

Not 100% sure but my bet is yes since 3255 is thickness 5.4mm and 2836 is 5mm thickness

I also retract, you can find 3255 on AliX

Given it appears all the existing gain weight DD40s are all 3255, I am very much doubting it will also come in 2836. I’m currently waiting on Steve but if someone else beats me to it about this, please post.

Sir it's avaliable for both 2836 and 3255. 2836 weight is 150g 3255 is 140g. I can confirm this and I will post pictures of both as I get home tonight

Looks like the A2836 is narrower so there is more tungsten crammed in around the movement to explain why it weighs more.

My concern with the heavier case is it'll be top heavy and rotate around the wrist like if it was on a strap.

Just ordered the rose gold with blue/green dial with A2836. Will post QC if anyone is interested.
