Looks like that’s what I’ll do. I’m not surprised if they will be flooded with inquiries as a result of this thread. Thanks.

I'm talking to a non-TD who has the Rose Gold with blue-green dial available in A2836 and clone VR3255. I'm leaning towards the A2836 because its a tried and trued movement that I have experience working with.

The only reason I see the clone VR3255 being worth it is if you are frankening/modding (gen dial, hands, etc.) which doesn't seem too common for Day-Dates due to the price and availability of parts. That being said, I doubt a gen blue-green dial/parts would be available for this particular model to franken/mod.. In that case what's the point of getting a clone movement...? Thoughts?

Some people just prefer the idea of being as close to gen as possible.

I have a few DD40 with 2836 (bought before the clone 3255 came out) and I have no desire to replace them.

I have a DD40 with 2836 so that’s why I was hesitant on getting a clone 3255 this time.

Anyway, I paid $520 shipped for the a2836 QF rose gold with blue-green dial today. Non-TD was offering the clone 3255 for $600 shipped.

I will post photos when I receive it! Hopefully this is a colorway I can pull off wearing as well 😅

I'm honestly just buying it because it's neat and have no real intentions of wearing that crazy thing outside the house lmao unlike my stainless OP36 and DJ36 .

Going on 2 months waiting for GMF YG DD v4 Tungsten with VR3255 movement. Is that normal? Is anyone able to source these right now?

Wrong thread my friend, but :

While I won't say it's "normal" for most watches, for that specific model from that specific factory I would say it's still ok. GMF is pretty shaky releasing their tungsten watches. From my personal experience, I wanted around 1.5 months for my YG DD Tungsten A2836 and 3 months for my WG DD Tungsten Arabic Dial.

Would gently just email your TD once every week to check on status.

But I take it these new gain weight QF models are a lot more easily available, right?

QF has a better track record of delivering their watches faster than GMF, but I make no promises. Replica supply chain is replica supply chain.

Well as long as I get it by the end of November, I’m good. I’ll check with the TD before I order

Aren’t there hints that GMF, BPF, and QF are related? Not that that means anything lol

I did hear that QF is an offshoot of whoever started GMF and BPF and it makes some sense too since GMF started this whole tungsten development and have the longest history in the replica game, and QF appeared out of nowhere with the same technology.

But I'm just confused on the whole replica game dynamic, not sure why they created QF completely instead of relying on GMF brand power, maybe they wanted QF to be the specialist in tungsten watches as compared to GMF and BPF and didn't want any of the "baggage" that GMF has.

But back to the point, that I've seen QF lead times for tungsten watches is much better than GMF...... so who knows what the fuck is going on
