Why Polonus? Is it the bracelet? I love the leather strap and the ceramic watch combo, but also think that the black movement looks better, at least in pics.

Well, to me it is like "let's ride everything with black ceramic" vs "it is still Panerai watch on a nice strap". I agree about movement being nicer on 438 but this detail is not seen when worn. I have 441 for a week, 438 since yesterday and while keeping them both for sure - I probably will wear 441 more of the two. Can't explain but it is like 438 is more of Panerai fan art than Panerai's original design. Sort of how creators of sci-fi movies of 80ties imagined clothes design of the future

The use of the 7750, with the added function of the GMT got me worried of the reliable of this rep. With all the deco plates it's gone be hard if it ever needs a repair

Decorative plates are mounted using screws. My watchsmith serviced several of these movements and installed decorations back without any visible problems.

GMT modification on 7750 is as per gen (as for 7750 gen GMT mod) - very stable and problem free.

This is a BAMF watch. Digging the ceramic bracelet. CP issue is annoying but that can be modded right? Will likely be ordering one in the next week.

You may have mixed up the PAM438 with the PAM441. The PAM441's caseback glass is tinted, the PAM438's is not.

I thought so, too. But the Reference Guide said "Overall the movement is accurate enough mainly with the darkened back crystal" for the 438, so I got a bit confused. I just checked the guide like 3 times because I was afraid to mix things up.

I'm afraid you are right

It is a mistake in the guide due to make at the same time PAM 441 and 438

As said by mysterio 441 is darkened and 438 is not

Hi, I have a 438, since I prefer leather over bracelet, I've bought a gen Asso.

Now my question, this is my first PAM, and I have no idea how to remove the bracelet. Help, anyone?

You just need a 140 screwdriver and a tweezers.
Remove the screw with the screwdriver and pull it out with the tweezers. That's it.

Agreed -- the AR on this one is a joke, but of all the things that could go wrong on this piece, that's not too severe of a concern In the grand scheme of things ..
