it looks like ZF has defect on the bezel ridges and other places if you look carefully... I went with V6.

Which follows the image on the P com website. So we can follow the PAM00615 image on the website yet contradict the one of
the PAM616? By the way, the website shows the PAM00616 using the springbar system not the QR system so I don't
know where you base that earlier statement on.

oh, my fault, i look it after sihh 2015, i think pam 616 still use QR system in picture...

or my eyes dim, heheheh, i apologize for that, i don't check p com again...

Can't really say anything concrete about the watch until someone gets it and posts actual pictures. :)

Well... that's true, unless there is a good example on TDs sites...and there is. I don't want to put any links here, but I encourage you to take a look for yourself @ dealer sites... look for magnified images of bezel dial teeth etc. Obviously, let's see what it looks like when someone gets it. I'm waiting for V6 version, so objectively can only speak of it when I get it...

My XL sized case opener arrived and I've managed to get the back off mine and lubricate the rotor bearing. I gather on ETA movements the oil for this is recommended as 9010. But suspecting the Chinese bearing to have rather sloppier tolerances, I decided something with a little more body and damping effect might be a good idea, so I've used D5. Very quiet now, all the metal to metal spinning sounds have gone, so it's all very smooth and the rotor still spins well.

Well, I've done it. Got rid of the nasty gold paint, so moved it further away from the gen, but more to my liking. A cross between both rep versions:hypnotized:
I used Humbrol model paint in a colour called OAK 71. The colour resembles no oak that I know of, but is a deep cream, very similiar to the lume.

Absent anything to the contrary it would seem that the official lume color is, as "mysterio" indicates- green- that is what they publish on their site- They may change colors midstream but I'd go with green which is why I am ordering the V one tomorrow.

Hi all, first post here!

I became interested in the Panerai Carbotech replica after coming across it by chance when searching for a review of the actual unit. Normally I'm not interested in replicas but what really caught my eye was the use of actual forged carbon instead of just a lookalike material. That's really impressive stuff for a replica! What happened was a couple of days of research and reading up on the various replica factories and this thread.

I decided that the KW version of the Panerai Carbotech seemed to the most well made. Also, it's available with two movements, the A7750 and the Seagull ST2555. The two sources that I found that sell these are Perfect Clones and Kuvarsit, with very similar prices. My questions to the veterans here are:

1) Can you tell which versions are these being sold? A newer version to the review piece, or the same one? I believe the review piece is V2.

2) Are Perfect Clones and Kuvarsit both selling the same units? I see that both are from KW but I'm not sure if they are the same versions or units.

Thanks!

All versions from KW-V6Fac are the same in all dealers, just there are decorated movement based on A7750 and on Seagull ST2555.
Regarding other makers versions all dealers are selling the same reps

Thanks ALE! Do you know if the version that is being sold right now is the same as the one in review aka V2, or is it a newer version? Thanks again!

I don't know what you mean with "the version is being sold right now" and "the one in review aka V2".
Let me know the links and I will answer you
Anyway you can assure nothing in rep world

In PolonusTM's review, he mentioned at the start that the replica he is reviewing is the V2 version, with the first version made from casted carbon fiber. He went on to mention that the biggest "defect" for the V2 is delamination seen on the bezel. Then he concluded the review by saying that he saw 3 gen prototype, and that makers might come out with more revised versions.

Since PolonusTM's review is posted in May, I was curious if KW's current unit is the same as the one that PolonusTM reviewed, or is it a revised version? Thanks!

I would love to know if this watch is going to get another version made!

I am already half tempted to buy it, but if they re-make the case with the proper carbon grains, i would be all over it.
