This watch has definitely grown on me to where i now still dont like the pattern but am more amazed at the factories ability to get so damn close to it. The rep to me is amazing but the design by Panerai is shite

I dont mind the color scheme which is why I wish it were possible to rep the 614 or better yet the 615.

Thanks for the great review Polonius! I decided to jump on this one and just ordered from Ryan. Will post DSLR pictures when I get my watch. Props to KW for a high quality newest PAM... it maybe different from Gen, but 99.999999% of people you meet won't know a difference as to the bezel patterns, especially given the nature of the material and the fact that Gens too suppose to have different tone variations, as they say that no one watch will be alike. Can't wait to get my watch / will share semi-pro pix using my sister's Nikon D7000. For now here some QC links... looking nice!

D7000 is my gear, too :) but I'm too lazy to set up shadowless box so most of the time photos are taken with iPhone 6+ ;))

The PAM614/615 have additional complications (pun intended) so you would have to settle for faux subdials and pushers if you would like these repped.

Thats what I thought . Is it the chrono placement ? I really do not know much about movements being repped but do know there are complications with spacing and positioning

For the PAM 614, the pushers are on the left side, with the start on the top (@10) and the reset at the bottom (@8) and date window @3, running seconds @9. The existing A7750 would normally have the date window @3 and running seconds @0 as well, but with the pushers at the right side. You can't rotate the movement because the date would be upside down and the subdial @9 won't be running seconds but running minutes as it's implemented on the PAM212 rep. It is also not using a flyback movement.

For the PAM615, because of the location of the pushers on the left side, rotating the movement would place the running seconds @ 3 and the running hours (not something that's been implemented in a rep AFAIK) @ 9.

In both watches, rotating the movement would also add another complpication by placing the start at the bottom and the reset at the top.

That explanation makes perfect sense . Thank you for taking the time to explain

Really, I would like to see just one photo of blue lume on 616... despite the P site shows it is green in Night View picture.
upz. My fault. I didn't read the news all the way. They meant the blue color on the sub dial lol

So the op was correct then?

OP = PolonusTM did not say the lume was blue. And ZF did not correct the lume shot, it was blue from the moment they posted it. I have not seen any real world lume pictures of the PAM616 and so the basis would be the one on the Panerai website which shows it as green.

panerai website pam 616 too much flaws, cmiiw

in website pam 616 use QR button system, but the real pam 616 use new springbar system

i think blue lume is the correct one, some new pam use blue and green combination like this :

So far there is only assumption that Panerai could do gen 616 lume in blue is be'cause OTHER watches from SIHH have blue lume elements. The fact is the Panerai Night View of PAM 616 shows the lume as green.

Going the logic of "Panerai is sometimes wrong on their site" I can say OTHER watches can have green lume, too ;)

I think kind of the final proof 616 lume is green is this video of Frank Stalder (Panerai R&D Director) explaining new releases, starting from PAM 616 (and not mentioning anything special about lume) and then moving to 614 and 615 where he explains that "distinctive thing for these watches is blue lume on minute hand" and even shows photo of lume in action.

...which is different watch to 616 AND the fact such photo exists was another proof someone found the new color of lume worth showing (which was not the case with 616 with regular lume color).

Which follows the image on the P com website. So we can follow the PAM00615 image on the website yet contradict the one of
the PAM616? By the way, the website shows the PAM00616 using the springbar system not the QR system so I don't
know where you base that earlier statement on.

So it looks ZF got the lume wrong, unfortunately. Deal breaker? Maybe...
