I had a V6/KW version and it was amazing... I regret selling it at times, but would like to get more accurate 1:1 to gen when it comes out.

In PolonusTM's review, he mentioned at the start that the replica he is reviewing is the V2 version, with the first version made from casted carbon fiber. He went on to mention that the biggest "defect" for the V2 is delamination seen on the bezel. Then he concluded the review by saying that he saw 3 gen prototype, and that makers might come out with more revised versions.

Since PolonusTM's review is posted in May, I was curious if KW's current unit is the same as the one that PolonusTM reviewed, or is it a revised version? Thanks!

OK, now I got it
No. there rae no news about new versions as far as I know
Delamination is an issue inherent to the rep material not as strongly pressed as gen
I think delamination in reps will be always hit and miss

Thanks ALE. I understood the delamination issue to be due to the way they cut the bezel. Apparently Panerai uses water cutting but it's too expensive for the replica factories to replicate.

But anway, that answers my question! I'll probably get this sometime in the future. It's a little expensive for a replica although I feel it's rightly priced because it's made out of actual forged carbon, but I have other targets in mind for the time being.

+1 on that. The issue I found lately is that vast majority of the makers including v6/KW has become greedy enough that they won't release the perfect rep like back in the day they used to after a few versions.

I was the first adopter of 438, 508, 569, 382 the moment they released, thinking they were great till they started dropping the prices as they improved them. I can't be bothered to be the guinea pig anymore. Wait for the perfect rep to come out and then I'll purchase it. If only most of us did this, that could send a message to the makers about their greed imho. just my 2 cents.

I saw on one replica website that the Panerai Carbotech they have is carbon plated on stainless steel. Is that the case with this watch in your review or is it 100% forhed carbon? If it's plated on SS there would be a noticeable difference in weight with the plated one being heavier.

That is an absurd thing !!
Maybe the rep Carbotech is not exactly the same as gen, but it is a real carbon stratify material. See the side of the bezel
Forget this statement

Of course I'm talking about the good reps which we are dealing here

Maybe the info on that website I was talking about was lost in translation. It wasn't a dealer here. So when I buy this watch 1st quarter on 2016, I'm buying it from a dealer here on RWI! I'm waiting because I want to see if a factory will make the U-Boat Carbino which is totally badass. Ultimately I'll probably own bot that and the Panerai Carbotech, bit I like the Steampunk look of the U-Boat more...plus I already have the Panerai Bronzo.

Just received mine today, it´s a V6F.
Absolutely fantastic timepiece.
And the carbotech feel is great.
Will post some pics later.

And what do you think about the JF version, it seems that they have solved the issue with the movement of the seconds hand interfering while regulating hour separately... I like its case finishing
