I also keen to buy it after reading the review. Definitely a change from the usual SS Pam.

Looks worlds better. I am pretty surprised they got the pattern so close in such a short amount of time. Great informative review Polonus

Great review. Carbotech= the worst Panerai watch ever made (IMO). Summer time brings out out the silly. But i love the review.

Dear me, Slaughterer, how can you make this comment and yet remain happy at every week's new Tonka Toy colour scheme for otherwise virtually identical ROOs!. The back of the Pride of Mexico is the most amateurish thing I've seen from a major factory in a long time!

In fact, this Carbotech is the nicest and most interesting Panerai I've ever seen. I've just ordered one.

We are all now laughing at the POM caseback in the Audemars forum. We also laughed a long time ago about the wood grain on the first forged carbon experiments for the AP FC Diver from the factories. Now everybody wants a Panerai with an even more pronounced wood grain. PAM 616 = black plywood. To each their own. I am not a carpenter or lumberjack. :giggle:

It's funny you should say that, because I destroyed the GMT movement on my Explorer II by wearing it while I was chopping trees.
But on this PAM, at least the seconds hand is at 9, so there should not be a stuttering problem:kiss:

Nah. That was just the year he forgot to pay his subs to the local Family, so he was in a bad mood and a bit scared...
Particularly since a large black Packard had just come round the corner with its tyres squealing...

He he, probably so. Guess what, through all this venting, I am starting to like the Carbotech.

I love this watch, even with the layering faults. Part of me wants to wait for v2, and part of me feels like I have to jump on it now because it might not sell well enough for a v2 to be released.
