The tubes are to stop a tight leather or rubber strap unscrewing the screw bar so do provide some purpose but I don't always use them myself

Being new to the whole
Pam world thing.
Im just guessing,
spring bars are used so that I can change any strap I want onto the same watch
If so! What tool is required to screw them in & out ?

What do you pam experts recommend for the Buckle
Sewn in for security
or spring bar ?

The spring bar screw lookalikes from panatime are pure awesome. They are even different sized on each end crown side screw head end is larger for the larger hole on the side. Screw thread side is smaller and if you try to install the the opposite way they will not work. Every single pam I get i buy them.I have not tried springbar lugs yet surprisingly even though though they would make my strap changes so much easier. [emoji38] I prefer my buckles to match the finish of the case as much as possible so they should be screw in. Not that I totally hate sewn in. Sometimes you have to get one or two for that vintage look.

I did read that. There was a seller here locally who was a distributor for Panatime, but he never got back to me on my inquiry so I never got to buy them. Maybe the ones on ebay are half-passable?
The ones on eBay sold by WSO fit the same as the panatime. Different sized ends and one end looks like it uses a screwdriver. UK cousins sells them too- was debating buying the 100 pk...

Springbars that use a screwdriver? Maybe it's the faux end which looks like it's a normal screwbar.
I politely disagree with everything @Zulu44gmt has suggested ehehe to each his own
I hate those springbars and nothing I hate most than sewn-in buckles
i repeat, different strokes for different folks
