I politely disagree with everything @Zulu44gmt has suggested :) ehehe to each his own

I hate those springbars and nothing I hate most than sewn-in buckles

i repeat, different strokes for different folks

Totally with you bro,
I've only got one strap with a sewn in buckle....not my thing

My concern on springbars has been their length. They've been too short in my experience so the faux-screw end was recessed inside the lug hole. This might not be an issue to many, but imho it detracts from the gen-like appearance, plus screwing and unscrewing the standard lugbars makes me feel like taking care of my watch :)

the satisfaction you get when the screw goes in / comes out smoothly is one of the cheap thrills of this hobby

So, now that my TD sent me pictures of the watch that I approved, and the watch is in the mail, I have to start choosing a few aftermarket straps. A black& brown for sure....but then something spicier, like a red python on blue stingray...oh, all those choices:). Anyways, happy to become a first time rep owner soon:)

Well it's not really THAT slow compared to using regular screw-in lug bars, but using the screwdriver when loosening and tightening the screw can potentially scratch a watch, especially when not using the right sized screwdriver.

The tubes are to stop a tight leather or rubber strap unscrewing the screw bar so do provide some purpose but I don't always use them myself

Will the tubes stretch out the strap and potentially damage it?
If they can fit without ripping the strap when inserting it of course.

I don't think so, because normal strap manufacture leaves enough space for the tubes to go through.

The 411 is fantastic. I have always liked pams but have only owned the 26k and 356, both of which were excellent watches, but the polished bezel on the 411 takes it to a new level which is amazing for a low cost watch. I had Andrea at Martu make me a padded calf strap and after much deliberation have decided to put the spare prof luminor crystal I had kicking around on it because whilst the kw xtal is quite gen like, the glare is just too much when almost all of my watches are 2ar bar the rollies which are all gen.

That said, OOTB it is amazing bang for buck bar the strap which is really shitty.

I just received my 411 which I purchased from Toro. Thought it was a great deal based on comments read, but it looks ridiculously fake. Numbers are painted on vs. my 111 Noob which has the numbers etched out and the lume is beneath. Therefore there is no depth to the numbers and IMHO it looks awful.

I take it you've never seen the gen then

Maybe because the 411 is not supposed to be a sandwich dial, but rather a sausage dial while the 111 has a sandwich dial???

The 411 is a 'sausage dial' as opposed to the 'sandwich dial' models which are a different style dial. The kw dial is extremely close to the gen 411 dial, if you don't like it that's fine but that's how it is on the gen.

Well I must admit I had my issues discerning a sandwich dial from a sausage one at the beginning, and thinking about how noob I was back then made me smile :)

My mistake on the sausage vs. sandwich. But the dial still looks photocopied. My version is the V6F

So while we are on topic of sandwich vs. sausage - Could anyone recommend an awesome sandwich dial @44mm that is an automatic? I guess basically an automatic version of the 111? Loved my 111 until it broke about a month ago. Would prefer auto to winding. thx

The nearest would probably be the PAM299 (date with cyclops), PAM104 (date with GMT) or PAM312 (date, 1950s case). Automatic PAMs usually have a date (or another complication like a GMT hand or a chrono function) so an exact model would not be available.
