Well indeed it was a hit, the combo is amazing!
It is a strap which was originally mounted on PAM1314.
I was lucky to find one second hand in a new condition before getting the 177. My first 24mm lug width watch and i went already crazy while waiting for the shipment, even bought a gen rubber - the rep rubber this 177 came with is good but thinnier and the material is not a real rubber for shure - i am caoutchouc freak and totally against silicon (better for skin) ;-)
Rubber is a must for summer but I can't seem to spend how much Panerai is asking for that piece of plastic. Try some AliX shop they have some good quality rubber strap (but of course AliX is full of low quality stuff also, it is a hit or miss thing...)
Hi, actually i do have the same issue with the crown tube, i can see it moving. One crown-guard screw came off as soon as i unpacked my new pam today - which is not a problem as i had the same problem with my VSF pam683 - after wearing it for 2 weeks straight both screws became slowly loose, fixed it with locktideI really like the watch. The finish is a bit rough, for example the crown guard / lever, but this can be fixed easily, thanks to the simplicity of the watch itself.
I had an small issue with the crown/ tube, the screw nut came lose, so I had to remove the stem and screw it back on. While doing that, I've sanded the crownguard a bit down, so the lever sits now more tight, to increase waterproof and better overall feeling.

Anyway i was planing to open ip my 177 and clean it a bit / chech thw movement, grease the gaskets (also on the crown).
What have you used for sanding down the crownguard? I really like to do it too.

I've used a diamond file (for knives). Just keep an eye on the right angle

Actually i am impressed by the finishing quality of HWF, as i am always reading (older posts) that noob is better but still dont know what "better" it should be.
Compared to my SUB from VSF the HWF qjality is very good (at this price of course).
Put mine on GEN Rubber, feels way better compared to REP rubber - no smell / no slin irritations and sweating, way softer and a bit thiker
Where could we find an original rubber except in Panerai stores ?

i got mine (including original invoice) from local countries second-hand site like ebay. Still you have to be careful not buying a REP / Aftermarkt one (seems to be full of "fakes" on ebay), but full original - it could be hard to notice it just from pictures. AFAIK it should definitive say "MADE IN AUSTRIA" and also having the steel tubes (for the screw bars) in it.
The reference number for a GEN Black Rubber (24mm) is: MX0011QQ

Some of them are indicated as "pure rubber". Maybe PU rubber... at least not silicone, then probably softer than silicone ones... I hope.

Quality is very good for the price!
The only thing that could be better are :
- CG edges are very sharp. Need to be softened with very fine sandpaper.
- CG is a bit loose. Could be better with sanding a bit the CG parts in contact with the case to reduce its lenght.
- We see a lot the crowntube. I will check if it could be better by tightning it.
- The crown is very light when turing it to wind the movement. Like if steam is too small for this movement. I will check how it fit with another swiss steam for 6497.
- SuperLume is not very well applied on second hand. So we can see it on the side. OK on minute and hour hands.
Except that, it is really good !
Even the lume quality is good ! Strong for couple of minutes, then luminated enough to see it correctly even after a 7h night. Not as strong as SuperLume X1 from Tritec that I applied on another PAM like watch, but really correct !
