Why is the seagull version not as popular as the 7750 version?
I thought seagull is the more reliable one ?

7750 is accepted as a very reliable movement, where it is harder to find (compared to 7750) parts for Seagull. That can be the reason maybe?

The seagull have closer-to-gen balance wheel position, and I think seagull is a reliable movement too...

There's been several problems lately with the seagull personally I would get the 7750 if the seagull goes you just can't swap it out with a normal one

In the previous page, there's someone testifying for at least 47 hours of PR with the seagull. I doubt the 382 7750 version can reach that PR ??

That can be true but 7750 is called always as a "workhorse" and it is one of the most reliable movements. Hard to break down. I wouldn't personally even think to compare both. That's just my personal opinion.

A serviced A7750 is a reliable movement. I have many watches that contain A7750 and in my experience if out of the box they are ok......they remain ok. Only issues I have had is when they have arrived crapped out. It's always a great idea to service any rep movement however to remove dirt and grime and ensure they are well lubricated.

So Im sure this question has been answered already. Couldn't seem to find a definitive answer myself. Does the Bezel move like the Gen or is it fixed in place?

The bezel turns, though I don't know if it has the same number of clicks like the gen bezel, however it is not fixed.

Diver's watch bezels should be movable as they are used to monitor the dive time. The minute hashes for the last 15 minutes are to time your decompression. PAM382 has a unidirectional click bezel. I would expect the clicks to be full 1-second clicks as there would be no point to measuring half minutes when you can just check the second hand if you so needed more resolution.

Guys, is it normal for the 382 to come with an insane amount of patina? These QC image shows the watch looking brown. I rejected this watch due to the flaws below. Maybe I'm too harsh but I had a bad experience with a different TD so now I'm being extra cautious.

KW V6F latest version (May 2015) 382N (Seagull ST255)

my zf came worse than this... had some ugly rainbowish stuff on there. I wouldn't worry about it. Just reset with a lemon juice or hot sauce bath.

Thats really good to know. Thank you. I'm now just worried about the alignment of the markers.

This. But be careful how long you soak the watch in lemon and then just clean it. Don't use anything like capecod on it or you will remove the brushing.

Should I be worried about the waterproofing? I think KW says its water resistant but who knows what that really means?

I just greased the gaskets on mine and dove with it this spring in Mexico to 113 feet.

Is there a guide for this? Sorry I'm such a newbie haha that sounds amazing though! Do you have any pics of yours on the trip? I'm collecting images of Bronzos in the wild where they're meant to be :D

Never trust dealers claiming their watches are waterproof.
If you don't know how to do it, you better bring the watch to a watchsmith and have him test if the watch is waterproof. In case it isn't let him do the job, you don't want some water get inside your precious watch, do you? ;)

The bezel pic you showed might just be clicked over one extra time to look off. AS for the patina...everyone mentioned above how to get rid of it back to "normal". Good Luck with your next watch. -Cheers

P.S. I would've asked for another watch as well. I wouldn't trust the mark on the side of the case as shown in your pics.

Thank you for the input, I think I would have been ok with the crazy patina too since I could fix that but the other flaws I'm not sure about. And the last time I gave a TD the benefit of the doubt I was in for some headache. Ugh, but I hate to be "that guy" that picks apart every QC image.
