Great comparison! Not a bad work from VSF overall. What do you say about the thickness? Maybe one mm difference?

The VSF looks very good, I know it’s not a 1:1 since it’s a 1024 vs 24, but there are no “instant tells” to my eye. In your opinion, how’s bezel action and crown lever action/tightness vs your gen?

My thoughts are that it’s close enough. You don’t even see that many panerais out in the wild anymore. I live in Miami and it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen someone wearing a Panerai let alone a submersible.

So you bought 3!?
Yes :geek:
Perfect case, dial, hands, bezel. Yesterday I went to Domi and he checked the clone movement and said it’s one of the best quality wise.

Maybe I’ll use one for a 024 build. But even if not.. it’s so so good and I waited for years and gave up hope that someone starts to replicate old subs again.

So it’s good to hoard these treasures before VSF decided to quit producing it.

That‘s quality feedback. If they decided to make a 243 Submersible again, now that would be incredible.

Interesting feedback on clone quality! Did you make it more silent? I have noticed that at the beginning it was very noisy but now it is almost unnoticeable. Possibly it is more quiet when fully charged...

That's an interesting strategy to hoard them, I think this is the most relevant release in Panerais reps of the last couple of years.
But now I really want to save for a Bronzo...

It’s the usual ball bearing rotor noise. Of course you can hear it. Even on my Gen Panerai it’s the same.

If it bothers you, just put a bit of grease on the ball bearing and it will be almost totally quiet. I did this with many watches before. But nowadays I’m just not so sensitive about this detail anymore so I just leave it as it is. And I’m just to lazy to do it with every watch 😅

But for this clone mvmt in this VSF 1024, it’s not very loud ootb.

There was only one negative point worth to mention, IMO: The rubber strap is not the best, at least compared to Gen rubber. So I put a Gen rubber on this watch.

The VSF rubber is a bit stiff and too thick.
