Is the 3230 in this VR or VS orrrr something else?

It's a VR. The balance, rotor, and even the movement serial numbers are identical to the VR3235.

Also very distinguishing is the tiny pinion for the intermediate winding gear, which is much larger on the VS3235 (and the gen). This VR3230/5 winding gear design is a carryover from the 3135. It's not a bad thing as the 3135 design served well for many years. It's just not as gen-spec for a 3235 as the VS is. There are other 3135 carryovers in the VR3230/5's.

What would be very interesting to know is if the VR3230 has the ghost stem position 2 or did they do it right and eliminate that? Someone who has one already please reply.

2. Winding action, how that feels?
3. Movement noise, especially when (gently) shaking the watch?
4. Overall bracelet and clasp feel?

2 and 3 will be sample specific

A clean and properly lubed VR3230 will wind smoothly and has fairly quiet rotor movements.

I have 2 VSF 126610s, one in which I replaced the VS3235 with a VR3235. The VR3235 was serviced and is noticeably quieter.

Yes bro, plug and play. Occassionally there can be a slight difference in how a 3235 dial sits on a date plate. You know the slotted dial underside rims that fit between the protruding tabs on the date plate. I've had one VS to VR and one VR to VR where the fit was such that I needed to rotate the dial slightly to make the date centered vertically in the date window but the dial was already at full travel in the direction I needed to go. So I just tried a different movement on one and it was fine. The other one I swapped the date plate with a spare part and got an acceptable fix.

These occurrences are exceptions, most often the swap goes without issue. Hands fit has always been fine for me.

I'm glad it's a VR movement as it was listed as such when I ordered the yellow but the tds changed it to king3230 after, which worried me.

Still curious to see if GM V2 or KING definitely have a revised bezel from GM V1 ( Phatt bezel )

Thanks for your assessment but I'd like to hear from somebody who actually has one in hand, even if some things are "sample specific".

This one is looking great on the first sight, but dial printing seems to be really bad. Or is it just the picture?

Not really, a lot of the pics are deceiving. The KING Tiffany Blue for example doesn't look anything like the pics. The actual watch you get has a very deep ( inaccurate ) colour blue dial, not like the pics at all. Its not unheard of for some TD to use GEN watch pics as well on their sites.

Could also be the lighting as some suggest, but in some pics the bezel looks OK and in others it looks PHATTT just like the GMF unit.
Hence my interest in this as I'm considering the KING sliver dial - but wondering about the bezel.

Is there a ghost stem 2 position for date change?

Sometimes a datewheel is even left installed so you get a date change click when setting time and at some random time during the day. The hands are not set at midnight since there is no need.
