I read this thread everyday, because I have the hots for a Toubillon. I keep hoping one will show up in the Member sales area that I like. When I find the "right" Tourbillon I intend to join the "club".

My only reservation, the gen's can start at 60 thousand dollars and go up from there, which makes them some of the most expensive watches on the planet.

I live in a small town and 99% of the population has never heard of Franck Muller or Breguet. With that being said the only person who will recognize a Tourbillon is a watch geek or someone who owns a GEN. I guess what I am asking, do you the owners of REP tourbillon's ever feel uncomfortable wearing your tourbillon?

Oh, even though I think about the question of cost. I still intend to purchase a REP tourbillon because they have to be the coolest watch IMHO.

Dear your reflex is the good zone !

At this price it can't be a tourbi even a REP.

REPed Tourbis start at +500$.... Search one of TD shop, you'll have a good estimation of a REP Fourni price...

Good luck for your search...

Agreed, $500.00 US seems to be the entry level for a real tourbillon. I guess where I am confused, how can the seller describe a TIMEX as as tourbillon when does not have a tourbillon movement?

I have narrowed my search down to a Brequet or a JLC GMT. I am having heart burn over paying $800.00 for a REP that has a minimal warranty and quality control. Sounds like I am being overly critical of REPS, I am not, just being realistic about the REP hobby.

a lot of people get tourbillon and open heart mixed up.

open heart just shows the balance wheel through the dial, whereas a tourbillon actually rotates the balance wheel 360 degrees every (60s for asian tourbys, but there are other duration tourbillons)

Ahh yes, that is a derivation of the popular JLC tourby.. that one is just a bit more complicated with the 24h indicator and PR.

Dutchman, thanks for your input. Please do post your photos. What TD did you use?

How would you rate the quality and function of this watch?

Hi,

here you go! Good looking, maybe a bit big on the wrist! And as said, the dial print can be off as here @ the tourby lettering!
